Looking Back - Uruguay 1998
Around this time the goth scene in Uruguay was very small and just 5 or 6 bands existed, wich (to make it worse) shared the same fans that where around 200 at the most. One of those bands was Tanathos in wich Alicia was the singer (they had a sound of heavy synths and heavenly vocals). Javier was the base player for Leningrado (a pop oriented dark with obscure synths).
When Tanathos broke up, Alicia joined Leningrado. After playing live once the band called it quits.
In the year 2000 Javier moves to Usa and after loosing contact with Alicia for more than 2 years they finally meet again over the net. From this meeting they decide to make music together again. "It's not easy having a band with their members in different countries, but where there is a will........."
Segundo Circulo is a bare project in wich we try to transmit our sadness... "we don't care much about the instruments we use, we don't try to have the best equipment, we do what we can with what we have" In 2008 our 4th album will be out (for anybody who asks for one), hope you like it or not........
Mirando hacia atrás-----
Montevideo, Uruguay - 1998-----
Por estas epocas, la movida dark/gotica en Uruguay era muy pequeña, por no decir inexistente, habia 4 o 5 grupos que andaban en la vuelta, pero todos ellos compartian el mismo publico que rondaba las 100 o 200 personas.
Uno de esos grupos era TANATHOS, donde Alicia Garcia era la vocalista.
Javier Garibaldi integraba el grupo LENINGRADO, junto con su primo Anibal, Sergio y Hector, hermano de una integrante de Tanathos. "Antes de formar el grupo, todos nos conociamos de habernos visto en algun concierto, eramos conocidos pero no amigos".
Con la disolucion de Tanathos, Leningrado encontro la vocalista que andaba buscando.
Despues de la partida de Anibal y Hector del grupo, se integro Laura en teclados y con esa formacion fue que se toco en vivo. Luego de dos años, entre blancos, negros y grises, el proyecto llega a su fin, pero los amigos permanecen.
A mediados del año 2000, Javier decide radicarse en USA.
Más allá de las distancias y los tiempos, Alicia y Javier se mantienen en contacto, y es asi que en el 2004, surge la idea de hacer música juntos, nuevamente.
Valiéndose de los avances tecnológicos, el correo electrónico, el MP3, entre otros recursos, es que nace el primer demo denominado SIEMPRE.
Quedando conformes con el resultado y viendo que, pese a las distancias y dificultades, sí se podía, es que comienza a tomar forma el proyecto al que denominarían SEGUNDO CÍRCULO.
De influencias oscuras y electrónicas es que surgen sus composiciones de carácter minimalista, expresiones de desesperanza, melancolía y dolor.
En enero del 2005, ponen 9 demos en un CD, autodenominandolo Segundo Circulo, que terminaria siendo una edición limitada para familiares y amigos.
En Febrero del mismo año, el portal español de música, llamado Sonidobscuro, incluye en su zona de descargas, el demo Astroniña, encontrándose éste, entre los mejores valorados.
SEGUNDO CIRCULO es un proyecto minimalista, nos importa transmitir nuestros sentimientos, no tanto las herramientas que usamos para hacerlo.
CAMINOS TRANSPARENTES - 2006, es su segunda recopilacion de demos, "creemos que este disco es mas solido que el primero, aprendimos un poco mas a usar los programas con los que contamos. Le dimos mas importancia a los detalles, aunque sabemos que el escucha normal no se da cuenta de esas cosas, le pusimos mas horas de trabajo y nosotros quedamos mas conformes".
