MySpace a place for friends

Si le monde tournait rond, les membres de Selar seraient nés aux Etats-Unis. Dans un coin plutôt sauvage, mais à deux pas dune grande ville. À l'adolescence, leurs premières chansons auraient sans doute trahi cette douce schizophrénie : les grands espaces de l'Amérique poussiéreuse troublés par la respiration urbaine la plus frénétique. Le folk le plus rudimentaire et la pop la plus sophistiquée, dans un même souffle. Seulement voilà, Selar a grandi en France, aux portes dune cité ouverte sur la Méditerranée et ses vents incessants. Bien loin du Texas ou de l'Arizona. Et pourtant...

If the world ran smoothly, Selar's members would be born in the USA. Somewhere wild but very next to a big city. Their first songs as teenagers would probably have revealed this mild schizophrenia: the American wild and dusty spaces merely disturbed by the frenetic urban breathing. The most basic folk music and the most sophisticated indie music. But, see, Selar grew up in France, at the fringe of a Mediterranean city swept by incessant winds and open onto the sea.
