Selda and Greg lived across the hall from each other thier freshman year of college. Greg slipped plays he would write under her door, and so began a beautiful friendship. They both write musicals (among other things...), but who doesn't love a good breakup song. And that's what most of these are. Greg wrote the words and Selda wrote the music. Selda listens to a lot of Sondheim, Greg's favorite band is the Gin Blossoms. Selda likes Journey a lot and Greg likes Madonna a lot. Selda has many musical instruments. They're both a little neurotic. But in a charming way. They're in the process of trying to put together a coffee table book and if it ever comes out it's going to be incredibly funny. They're favorite lunch special in new york is Fiddlesticks.
I have to be honest and say that I never had the pleasure of hearing you sing in person, but you guys sound amazing. I love it and can't wait to get back to NY to hear you in person!
Hi folks, this is Greg of Selda and Greg. Selda and I wrote a lot of these songs a long time ago. So when I heard she's uploaded, I Don't Mind, I didn't even remember writing! Although there were a few lyrics that I was sure couldn't have come from anybody but me. I sent Selda that message and gave her some notes on how we should fix our song, I was thinking it needed a musical chorus or bridge (no more lyrics, I did my job already, it was time for Selda to challenge herself and further explore her musical talents). Funny thing is, I didn't write the song! Selda left me a message, very politely explaining that this is a song she wrote solo, and that she put it up on our myspace page as a test to see if she could upload. Not that this story won't be in our upcoming Behind The Music but you heard it here first.
OMG! I love this song! LOVE! Oh the memories that I have of sitting in your apartment and Sara and I singing along as Selda strummed I don't mind on her guitar!!! I love that everyone on my space can now enjoy the wonder of this song!! :)
