I started back in 2002. I started out listening to whatever was on TV and was promoted. Once I started becoming more knowledgable about the artform itself, I dug a little deeper. Finding true hip-hop, in a way, kind of made me who I am. I look for something that is once step 'below' mainstream to the untrained ear. If people only had the patience and respect for true underground hip-hop like a sad few do, this culture could be pheonomenal. The problem is people are too lazy to use their minds to find something out of the ordinary, and we're stuck 'artists' with a low intelligence quotient . "Oh, Lil' Wayne doesn't write..." nor does he have a sense of direction. Hip-hop HAS disappeared. People think rap and hip-hop are the same when they are nothing similiar. Hip-hop is a way of life, while rap is a hobby in your life.
