MISSION STATEMENT
Self Core Records is a record label that does not discriminate by genre, but chooses its artists by message and quality. We plan to bring back the aggressive roots of hip-hop; investing on the notion that both hardcore and hip-hop were cultivated around oppression and angst. We know that Self Core Records can be this channel.
If history repeats itself there are many examples in the past of hip-hop where such a notion has been successful. For example, The Clash in collaboration with Futura 2000, Blondies Rapture, Run DMC - King of Rock (self explanatory), Public Enemy in collaboration with Anthrax, not to mention the sampling of artists such as Slayer, Jimmy Hendrix, Sly And The Family Stone, and so forth. Currently we can observe this union in modern artists such as Lil John (Ozzy Osbourne) Eminem and Atmosphere/Mr. Dibbs.
It is our hope that in Self Core Records Hardcore and Hip Hop can find a peaceful haven, and we can begin to spread our music, provide a voice to struggling artists and unite our cultures from coast to coast.
