When receiving your tattoo or body piercing at Self Expressions Tattoo & Body Piercing, you can rest assured that we use the most up-to-date methods of protecting our clients' safety. All needles are brand new, single-use only. They are sterilized in an autoclave, the ONLY means of sterilization proven to be 100% effective. The needles remain in the protective pouch they are sterilized in until we open them in front of you while setting up for your tattoo or piercing.
When your tattoo is finished, while you watch, we break the needles off their bar, ensuring they are bent and beyond use, then dispose of them in a special puncture-proof "sharps container" where they remain until ready for incineration. Any work areas, spray bottles, power knobs, or tattoo machines are covered with plastic or latex "barrier controls", ensuring that any surface which has come in contact with blood is properly disposed of. If you're unsure of what design you'd like, we have hundreds of ready-made tattoo designs (or "flash") on hand for you to choose from. These designs come in all different shapes, sizes and content. This can be useful for the client who doesn't have the time to wait for a custom design to be prepared or for someone who needs to satisfy that all-consuming urge to get tattooed NOW! If you do have a specific design in mind, we will give our professional advice on how the tattoo will look best. If you are planning on a body piercing, we are specialized in that field as well.
Both tattoos and body piercings need to be cared for in order to ensure that no infection will occur. For your protection, we are state licensed and Health Department registered. We DO NOT give out medical advice about your tattoos or piercings. From our experience, we know your tattoo or piercing will heal faster and look better if, with clean hands, you apply a very light coat of triple antibiotic ointment a minimum of three times a day. The tattoo will develop a layer of dry skin. Let this skin fall off naturally without picking at the scab, as this may cause infection. After the skin has fallen off there will be a period of adjustment. It is advisable to apply a hand lotion. The tattoo is your responsibility after you leave the shop. USE COMMON SENSE. do u still have that tattoo shop there in manchester? Years back you put a tattoo on my back shoulder of a unicorn and right below it is like a ribbon with my ex husbands name in it, i need that colored in.I know you warned me not to do it and said I would be back..
