Selia d'Katzmeow Carmichael is an independent contractor/artist/free agent, etc. I am not exclusive with any troupe and/or group; I am fortunate to perform with a number of shows. I have regular performances with Big Mamma D's House of Burlesque, NC's longest running burlesque production. I also co-produce Burlesk! in Greensboro, NC; a running series comprised of ever-revolving traveling and local performers. I welcome any interest to book me independently.
I am an experienced Model, from Retro Pin-Up, Promotional, Tradeshows, Print, Events, etc.
I am a Performance Artist, more specifically, a Burlesque Artist. Now, there are plenty of references to what Burlesque is and further information to research on your own within my blogs. Basically, Burlesque is an Art. There is never any nudity in the performances and/or productions I am involved in. While striptease may be involved with an act, the emphasis is on the classic art of the Tease, and pasties are worn. These performances oft times are prop intensive and include elaborate costuming and theatrical makeup. I absolutely love what I do!! I love the other artists I have the pleasure of working with and the fabulous folks that attend the shows!! Bring a little Burlesque into your life, you won't regret it!
Burlesque IS NOT specific to any one era or genre. There, of course, is the classic-style of burlesque...but it builds, as with any artform, through the years; usually with elements of the past intertwined. Who I'd like to meet: I am here to NETWORK! I had a fucking blast last night! Ill be stage "tomcat" anytime you guys need/want me. McCouls is a little blurry and I had a speedcore drummer having a jam session in my head when i awoke this morning. Good times indeed :-)
