About me: Class of 77 is a fantastic new stage musical set to take the world by storm!
Written in Australia by David Hines, “Class of 77” has been performed many times by theatre groups and schools since it’s premiere in 2006. The plot revolves around a group of students at high school in 1977 and their subsequent school reunion 15 years later. The show features a very funny script and 13 original songs, all of which are in a 70’s rock/pop style. With a love story, a Swedish exchange student, women’s lib and a calypso number about a Holden Torana this show really has it all!
The show has been performed in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K and the U.S.A. Unlike most youth musicals which are set in the U.S.A this one allows the actors to portray themselves with local accents and expressions. The author is happy to work with theatre groups to make changes to the script which will suit their particular locale.
