.. ............ .... ...... ...... .... ...... .. .. ..The Semeion project was born in the early 1994 and formed by Stuart (drums), Antonello (guitar) and Damiano (vocals). After few months of unstability, the line-up changed replacing Antonello with Damiano’s brother, David, and including Tonino (bass). In the first period Semeion played a kind of death-doom influenced by Tiamat, My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost. At the end of 1994 a demo-tape, Sconnessi, was released. It was recorded live at “Be Bop A Lula” in Ladispoli (Rome) where the band presented their own songs and a Nick Cave cover, “The Mercy Seat”. It was a very productive period for Semeion, that in the next years played many live acts. A second demo, Fuori Tema, was recorded in a professional studio in 1996. The new work, made all of new songs (except Maschere), seems to be more mature with more complex songs and obviously a better production. In 1998 the band felt the need of new ideas and a second guitarist, Geppo, joined Semeion to face the new songs that the band is making. Three years later Tonino and Geppo left the band and Semeion faced a dark period, with many line-up problems; at the same time, Stuart played with other metal bands like Corpsefucking Art and Perfidy Biblical. But in 2004, the band was born again. In a few time Gabriel (guitar) and Riccardo (bass with Forgotten Lore), joined Semeion. The band found new energy and started to compose again. In June 2006 a new singer, Nicola, replaced Damiano and after some months Semeion started to record a new work called “94.07” that will be released in November 2007. This new work is made of 4 brand new songs and a full revisited version of Maschere (Masks)..... Il progetto Semeion nasce nel lontano 1994 dalle menti di Stuart (batteria), Antonello (chitarra) e Damiano (voce). Dopo pochi mesi di assestamento la band raggiunge una stabile line-up con l’abbandono di Antonello e l’ingresso in pianta stabile di David, fratello di Damiano, alla chitarra e Antonio al basso. I primi Semeion suonano un death-doom sulla scia di band come Tiamat (primo periodo), My Dying Bride e Paradise Lost. Risale alla fine del 1994 l’uscita della prima demo-tape “Sconnessi”; si tratta di una registrazione di un live tenutosi al “Be Bop A Lula” di Ladispoli, dove la band presenta i propri pezzi insieme ad una originale cover di “The Mercy Seat” di Nick Cave. E’ un buon periodo per i Semeion che negli anni successivi si presentano al pubblico con numerosi live-act. Il secondo demo, “Fuori Tema”, registrato questa volta in studio, vede la luce nel 1996. Il lavoro, composto da nuovi pezzi (unica eccezione Maschere, presente anche nel precedente “Sconnessi”) risulta più maturo con pezzi più complessi e ovviamente una migliore produzione. Nel 1998 la band sente la necessità di apportare nuove idee e si aggiunge un secondo chitarrista (Geppo) alla consolidata line-up, per affrontare in modo migliore i nuovi pezzi che nel frattempo la band sta componendo. Nei successivi anni fuoriescono sia Antonio che Geppo e i Semeion affrontano un periodo buio, con continui problemi di stabilità; nel frattempo il batterista (Stuart) suona con numerosi altri gruppi romani, tra i quali Corpsefucking Art e Perfidy Biblical. È nel 2004 che i Semeion riescono a trovare nuovi stimoli; in poco tempo entrano a far parte Gabriel, un giovane chitarrista e Riccardo (Forgotten Lore) al basso. La band trova nuova linfa vitale e comincia a comporre nuovi brani molto più violenti ed intricati dei precedenti. Nel giugno del 2006 un nuovo cantante, Nicola, sostituisce il precedente singer Damiano, e dopo alcuni mesi iniziano le registrazioni del nuovo demo cd, chiamato “94.07” che vedrà la luce nel novembre del 2007. Il demo è composto da 5 pezzi, 4 dei quali mai editi in precedenti lavori, con l’aggiunta di “Maschere”, brano che accompagna la band dagli esordi..... .. .... ............ .............. -
