About me:

THE ORIGINAL SEN ONE..... The father of one of the most revered and adopted Graffiti names in the world. George “SEN ONE” Morillo was born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, in New York City. He has been a Graffiti artist since the early 1980’s, the golden era of Hip-Hop culture. He first started writing graffiti in his neighborhood in 1980, and started painting subway trains in 1982. That same year he joined “Masters Of Style" (MOS), and "Incredible Bombing Masters" (IBM). Incredible Bombing Masters, as a crew were pioneers of their own style of Graffiti. The crew first started bombing (writing) on subway trains and school yard handball courts. Incredible Bombing Masters was a legendary crew that at the time was created by Graffiti legend Doze Green, and B-Boy Ken-Swift members of the famous Rock Steady Crew. In 1982, the crew that Doze and Ken-Swift created was passed down to Dino aka a close mentor of George and a mutual friend of both. George along with Gilbert aka “Epic” both joined Poke and became one of the first members of this crew, one of the most revered Graffiti crews in Hip Hop History. During this time George “SEN ONE” was also attending Joan of Arc JHS and that’s where it all began. The New York City school system was failing and falling apart, this gave students the opportunity to do what they wanted. Students began to teach and learn from each other rather than their teachers. This young group of kids learned designs, styles, and letter techniques that where being passed down from older Graffiti masters before them. As a main member of IBM, George came across many talented and skilled young urban artists like Doze Green whom now is a proponent of the avant-garde "fusionistic" art movement, and also cats like, Frosty Freeze (RIP), Deno (RIP), Big Al, Sia (Zoo York), Rel One, Flaquito 149, Ken-Swift, Kippie Dee (RIP), Pose, Skep, Lucan, Rickster, Kazar (RIP), Stash aka Kev One, Zor One, Chap, Tel, Stile, Rook (RIP), Luze One, Roz One, Nel (RIP), Pel One (RIP), Sha-Man, King Phear, Rad, Sphere, Fabel RSC, Lil-Man, Sent, Zear, Zame, Kose, Atom, West, Jon One 156, Bronz, Sketch, Rad, Jigs, Dezzy Dez, Eco, A-1, Juice, Risk, Camp, Lone, Shoot, Kid Frank, Kanine, Baste, Rek, SC One, Badge, Tenor, Oil, Bern, Totem, Dast, Dash, Sude, Dose, and so many more. Around this time Hip Hop was in it's golden-era, and the world was getting it's first taste of this fresh new sub-culture and Africa Bambaataa (Zulu Nation) dropped the classic "Planet Rock", in which a young Sen One can be seen in the video for that iconic song. 1984 when George was 15 years old he was commissioned to do a live art show and canvas for the late, great photographer Richard Avedon (RIP). A few years later, New York City began to change, and street artists and their art would be outlawed and the old canvases (subway trains) gave way to less rebellious ones (fabric). In the 1990's George was involved the New York City music scene and he was a prominent part of a Rap/R&B group on Sony label called “Menageri” whose music producer Kevin “Stash” Perez was also an IBM member. After the group tragically fell apart George began working in an after school program in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx teaching art to children ages 9 to 15, while at the same time a leading member of the Black Panther Collective here in New York. George was instrumental in creating the original anti-brutality Police patrols in Manhattan that are now called "Cop Watch" in Brooklyn by MXG organization. At that same time, George was working on artwork designs for many different clients, and he also created personalized miniature graffiti Subway cars replicas, and full wall size Graffiti laced canvases. In 2008, George aka "SEN ONE" was also featured in Bruce George and Louis Reyes book called "The Bandana Republic", a literary anthology by gang members and their affiliates, for his long history in NYC's street crews and gangs. "The Bandana Republic" is a must read by all. George "SEN ONE" Morillo is also slated to drop a couple of books in 2012, one based on his Graffiti black book called “Sen One's Black Book, 1980-1984”. This publication will be an historic, and educational vehicle linking today's Hip Hop generation to yesterdays Hip Hop innovators, and the other is a children book series showcasing the artistic talents of kids living with Autism, titled "ARTizm". Over the years George has been working and developing his own style of art, which he calls “Bombed Style”. Bombed Style is a layered mash-up of the many different Graffiti styles overlapping each other. The style mimics the overly Graffiti bombed subway trains and walls of the 1970's and the 1980's with a touch of abstract. George's “Bombed Style” canvases have sold for thousands of dollars and he is currently in discussion with several galleries to showcase his work. The fashion world recently got a taste of George's artwork when his art appeared all over Rachel Roy's line called “Rachel Rachel Roy”, “Something Undiscovered”. Not only was George's artwork featured on the fabric, shoes, and bags but George was also commissioned to do all the Graffiti props as well as being one of the props for the fall 2009 photo shoot. As of September 1, 2009, Sen One's work laced all six (6) of MACY'S main windows on 34th Street, NYC... Sen One along with Rachel Roy have developed custom limited edition graffiti trenches. Graffiti artist, George “SEN ONE” Morillo has gone from tagging the trains and streets of the Upper West Side of Manhattan to designing and creating books and having his artwork featured in the fashion world and now the independent film circuit will have a taste of this infamous artist. George and fellow IBM members’ story is being told in a soon to be released documentary called “Idolized By Millionz”, starring Poke (IBM), Epic (IBM), Sen One (IBM), Doze (RSC), Ken-Swift (RSC), Seen (TC-5), Fabel (RSC), West (FC), Risk (FC), Zear (IBM), and Share 37 (IBM). George has a major role in its production as well. George has teamed up with long time comrade Naimah Holmes and both have funded, directed and produced this iconic documentary. With co-producers Poke and Epic, “Idolized By Millionz” is slated to be released in 2010 and will be an instant classic.
