| SENATOR ON-LINE FIELDS CANDIDATES IN EVERY MAINLAND STATE
With the announcement of Senator On-Line candidates in each mainland state, Australians across the country now have the opportunity to vote to be heard at the upcoming Federal election.
If elected to the Upper House, the mandate of the Senators On-Line will be to vote on each Bill before the Senate, according to the majority voice, as expressed by registered Australian voters, on the party website www.senatoronline.org.au.
Senator On-Line (SOL) founder, Berge Der Sarkissian, says the concept of the party is about keeping voters involved in the political process beyond election time.
“Currently, once Senators are elected, the influence of voters tends to end there,” says Berge.
“Senator On-Line enables voters to stay actively involved in the decision making process by voting on-line, for or against each piece of legislation that comes before the Senate, right throughout the parliamentary term.
In order to vote on-line, voters will have to register with the site, and their registration details must match those as they appear on the electoral roll.
Berge says a number of candidates bring with them a strong IT background.
“Victorian candidate, Robert Rose, is an expert in IT security, while Queensland candidate Ben Peake has worked in various IT roles for the past 7 years.
“Among our other candidates are Joel Clark in South Australia who brings youth and enthusiasm to the party, while in NSW Pat Reilly, political veteran and current Mayor of Willoughby, brings with him a wisdom and strength of character.
“In Western Australia, Danny Mayer will be flying the flag.
Senator On-Line is not aligned with any other political party and will act as a direct line of communication from voters to the Senate.
“SOL is capitalizing on the capabilities of the internet to deliver true democracy by returning the Senate to being a house of review, as opposed to a platform for political deal making and individual bias,” says Berge.
