Organic Rock N Roll. Defined and original. It has the nature and minerals of Detroit Michigan in it's bang, blood and back-bone . The sound has a big Blues influnces, Motown meat is added, enourmous vocals, thumpin back-beats. Lively shows. A lot of the natives get it. You'll want to join in.
This rock is referred to as R&B Punk. It's like a mix of Jazz meets Motown meets great Rock meets Detroit styled Blues via the vocal of the Good Senator. Some say the snarl of Blue collar and early Mitch, Iggy and Punk, via Roxy Music, John Lee Hooker mixed with Jim Morrison of the Doors and early Two Plus Two Is On My Mind. The speech is Americana: brooding and hopefull...heartfelt. Direct and mysterous. Post Punk. Fine Rock N Roll. Senator O'Brien R&B Punk: it's very fast RnR/Punk songs mixed with Big, SLOOOW Ballads. Led by the enigmatic singer, writer and producer, Senator OBrien, with his five piece band rumbles in the tough and sweet. After seasoned touring through out, with several underground singles and college hits, Senator OBrien is back with a second full length album, Punk In My Soul. Grittier and more irreverent than the last LP Primary, the Soul album is packed deeper and stronger to the organic line of pure R&B Punk. In 2005, with the limited release of an EP, Inauguration, this five song send-out, put the real back in rock, post-punk rock! This grand live recording, with its' pain-driven love ballad, I Wanna Dance, is followed by the fanatically inspired, praise-filled stomp for fashion, Techno Clothes. As if character alone is not enough, OBrien does a crushing turn with Good, SO Good. Which has got to be one of the best secret amoungst the Loud and Proud crowd.
As in keeping with his style of mixing all type, genres and ages together, Senator enlists many famous and not yet famous musicians to assist him in his loyal duties of creation. Joined by the talents of drum great and producer Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac and newcomer Nat Ciuro,) guitarist Waddy Wachtel (guitar fav and tourmate of the Glimmer Twins, a.k.a the Rolling Stones,) Steely Dan Bassist Bob Glaub, guitar whiz and mentor, Ron Diego Johnston, plus youngbloods like Detroits own guitar monster duo Mark McCoy and Dusty Lewis, and cosmo drum king, Kelly Jestise.
All in all, Senator OBrien harnesses a new and wise mixture to produce an exciting, brave and fun-filled adventure. Inauguration is another vivid performance by Senator OBrien and his band.
As Senator OBrien prepares to tour the States in spring 2008 to promote the full lenght LP ,Punk In My Soul, and the new single In Faith, he has been busy producing a debut album for the new twenty three-year-old singer/songstress Nat Ciuro. Raised in Detroit, Ciuro (pronounced Cure-o) sings in the vain of big beautiful ballads wrapped with lush emotions and a young woman’s' yearning for liberation. Mick Fleetwood plays drums, along with Steve Ferrone, bassist David Santos, the Serra Brothers, Pat OBrien Of Aphonic, DJBonebrake of X, Danick thomas, Brother Neil Couser, P.J. Smith, and with producer/guitarist/mixer Dee Cernile of Teenage head, Sven Gali, Jewel, Anna Nalick, amoung others,
heading off the mix. All of the record was recorded live, and under the production of Senator OBrien at 4th Street Recording in LA., a studio of enormous fame and room sound.
Senator OBrien lives to perform and will be arriving somewhere in your town.

Also, finally the good Senator, along with his crew of musical madmen, produced and arranged the first ever Dip N Swing recordings from the one of a kind Detroit showman, Dirty Bunny. The Ep, Shake That Thing is now out in Dance Pools and college radio. It's fun, freaky, and down right zappa-like in it's craftmenship, cleverness, strenght and depth. If this is not enough, Senator has two more productions set to go in 2008: one is more Rock Adventure from a newly discovered dream-girl from Detroit and another is an experiment in Techno Gospel. Go F%* figure. But watchout for live dates from the R&B Punk originator, Senator O'Brien. It is time to vote and this is when the Senator O'Brien is at his best.
