Stan Satin was the singer/saxophonist for Atlanta’s great, long defunct Vietnam. "Sends" is Stan Satin's first solo effort. In this 1984 cassette release, he puts his efforts where his heart is, the genre of ambient drone music. He builds melodies out of minimal sounds. The tunes display his enthusiasm for world music. The best of them fill the room, hide down around the feet of the furniture and mingle with the sounds of traffic and a radio playing in the distance. Sends shows influences of Brian Eno. Jon Hassell, Lewis & Gilbert and other masters of the genre. – Glen Thrasher
