Thanks to everyone who made this historic event possible. For the first time in Georgia's history, we had a Libertarian on the ballot for U.S. Congress. We finished 8 out of 10 which we think is pretty good considering the high number of candidates and the fact that it was a special election. We finished 6th in 3 of the counties in the district, and 7th in a few more. And as in 2006, Athens-Clarke was our shining star.
Once again--thanks to everyone who made this possible

Send Sendelbach to Congress
10th Congressional District of Georgia
Special Congressional Election. June 19th, 2007
Hello. And welcome to the official myspace page for Dr. Jim Sendelbach (L-GA), Libertarian candidate for Congress. Dr. Jim is running in the special election to fill the late Charlie Norwood's seat in the 10th congressional district of Georgia. This district covers Athens/Clarke County, Oconee County, the Augusta area, the northeast Georgia mountains, the extended eastern metro Atlanta area, and the Lake Oconee area. Are you fed up with the status quo? Are you tired of typical partisan politics as usual? Have you gotten to the point where you can't tell a Democrat from a Republican? If you've you answered yes to any these questions then a real alternative awaits you--Dr. Jim Sendelbach for Congress.
a.. FairTax--The progressive income tax punishes achievers in our society. The current tax code is convoluted and unfair. Once elected, Dr. Jim will do everything in his power to help pass FairTax legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives.
b.. Immigration--Dr. Jim is a true believer in the concept of the American melting pot. History has shown that legal immigration has made this country what it is; however, illegal immigration is a major threat to the endurance of our Republic. Weak and porous borders are a recipe for disaster and neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have the will or desire to control the massive influx of illegal aliens. We absolutely need to know who is crossing our borders. Dr. Jim would push for legislation to greatly enhance the number of border agents and military on our borders.
c.. Personal Choice
*The choice to send your children to the school of your choice
*The choice to have control over your retirement funds
*The choice to be taxed on what you consume and not what you earn
*The choice to live your life, raise your children, and reach for your dreams the way you see fit so long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else's rights.

Perhaps, in those days, there were a few among men, a few of clear sight and clean soul, who refused to surrender that word. What agony must have been theirs before that which they saw coming and could not stop! Perhaps they cried out in protest and in warning. But men paid no heed to their warning. And they, those few, fought a hopeless battle, and they perished with their banners smeared by their own blood. And they chose to perish, for they knew. To them, I send my salute across the centuries, and my pity.
Theirs is the banner in my hand. And I wish I had the power to tell them that the despair of their hearts was not to be final, and their night was not without hope. For the battle they lost can never be lost. For that which they died to save can never perish. Through all the darkness, through all the shame of which men are capable, the spirit of man will remain alive on this earth. It may sleep, but it will awaken. It may wear chains, but it will break through. -Ayn Rand, Anthem
