Senile Sanity is a band based out of Roebuck, a little town in Spartanburg, SC. Formed in January of 2004 with Michael Bragg (Guitar/Vocals) and Andrew Maness (Drums/Backing Vocals). The current Line-up was finished in May of 2004 when Michael Wilkerson joined on Bass. After a few months of rehearsal and open-mic nights the band began with athe Battle of the Bands at Spartanburg's Guitar Bar (R.I.P.) where they won their semi-final round and went on to finish 4th overall in the November 2004 finals.
In late November 2004, Senile Sanity went into Barnyard Studios in Campobello, SC, ran by Justin Jones and Chris Neff of local band FOUR DAZE, to begin work on there demo CD, "Music is Truth". Finished in January of 2005 the demo included the songs "Live On" and "Need You Now" showcasing the bands rock side as well as there softer side. The band re-enteres the studio in late 2005 and recorded two new songs, "Go Away" and "For The Light" that were released in april of this year.
The Greenville News featured the band in June 2005 as the "Extreme Band of the Week" as well as being featured in the Columbia, SC based magazine, Scene-azine in late summer 2005. In May of 2006 the band enterd a contest through radio station New Rock 93.3 The Planet/The Rise Guys, based out of Greenville, SC, for a chance to play an opening spot for SEVENDUST. The band finished respectively in the top 10 of over 600 bands who entered. The band primarliy played in the Greenville/Spartanburg area but exposure from these features lead the band into new areas for shows stretching from Charlotte, NC to Myrtle Beach, SC.
in August of 2006 Bassist, Michael Wilkerson, left the band. Michael Bragg and Andrew Maness continued with rehearsals and writting while searching for a new bass player. In January of 2007 Justin Smith joined the group as the new Bassist. Practices began and went very smoothly. Justin brought a new enthusiasm to the band as well as creative ideas. The band is currently working on building their set list as wellas booking shows. They are looking forward to building their fan base and playing as much as possible.
