STARVING A DOG IS NOT ART; IT IS AN ACT OF CRUELTY; IT IS MURDER! STOP Guillermo Vargas Habacuc in 2008!
Unbelievably, this sadistic "artist" has been invited back to the 2008 competition to repeat his cruel murder of another dog by slow, public starvation. Please sign this new petition to protest his presence at the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial Central Amercian 2008. www.petitiononline.com/ea6gk/petition.html
Add NotArt08, a MySpace page filled with important information dedicated to stopping Guillermo Vargas Habacuc before he sacrifices the life of another dog to "art."

Maria Daines' work on behalf of animals everywhere is an inspiration to all of us here at The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs. Her new slide show and the song "Rescuer's Prayer" dedicated to animals in need and their rescuers is a beautiful tribute. Thank you, Maria.
About me: The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, adoption, and lifelong care of senior dogs abandoned in shelters and pounds.
Older dogs are the last to be adopted and the first to die in traditional pounds across the country. They are also given up in alarming numbers when their families grow tired of them or find that they need a little extra care. Yet older dogs make the very best companions.
The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs currently operates a foster network and several small in-home sanctuaries, but our long range plans include a number of urban centers, apartment buildings, and small homes in the Greater Cleveland area for senior volunteers who will share their homes with our senior dogs. We believe in providing loving home settings for the senior dogs in our care. Will you join us?
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
To rescue senior dogs in need abandoned in shelters
To provide lifelong quality care for rescued senior dogs
To adopt appropriate dogs into loving, permanent homes
To develop programs that match senior dogs and senior people to their mutual benefit
To foster an awareness of our lifelong responsibility to our companion animals
To strengthen the bonds between humans and animals by teaching respect and compassion for all living things
SPONSOR A SANCTUARY SENIOR DOG:
The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs makes a lifelong commitment to every dog that enters our program: if the dog is too ill or too poorly socialized to be adopted into a loving home, that dog stays with an experienced Sanctuary foster caregiver for life. The Sanctuary does not euthanize dogs considered "unadoptable"; we euthanize only to alleviate suffering from terminal illness.
You can be a part of our program even if you cannot foster or adopt. You can sponsor a permanent Sanctuary resident by making a monthly contribution to the Sanctuary for your sponsored dog's care. Sponsor levels begin with as little as $5 a month, which covers your dog's monthly heartworm preventative. In appreciation for your ongoing support, you will receive a picture of your sponsored dog and periodic updates on your dog's progress. Local sponsors may also arrange a visit with their sponsored dog. A complete list of dogs available for sponsorship can be found at www.sanctuaryforseniordogs.org; just click on Sponsor a Sanctuary Senior for more information.
Helping the Sanctuary care for older dogs is rewarding; you have the knowledge that you are personally participating in saving an old dog's life.
In Loving Memory of Burt, our therapy dog who bought countless hours of joy to so very many. Rest in Peace, big fellow. 1997-11/7/2007
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone and everyone who loves old dogs and appreciates how really cool they are. I'd really like to meet anyone who would like to help us save old dogs or anyone who has a senior dog and is interested in therapy dog training.
Are you in Greater Cleveland? Can you foster an old dog and save a life? We would love to hear from you! The Sanctuary pays all medical costs at our vet clinic and will purchase food if desired. We turn away a dozen dogs most days. Please help us make a difference in the life of an old dog.FOSTER A SENIOR DOG; SAVE A LIFE!
