Senses are inspired by bands they grew up listening to; a mixture of strong songs and experimental sounds. The sound is 'epic, euphoric, sometimes melancholic. Standing outside the scene; music from the heart inspired by dreams. A single through Shifty Disco, airplay on XFM and BBC Radio2, a Radio2 session, sold out home town shows and recording with Gavin Monaghan the Story starts here...
"Quality indie in the vein of Doves, with a dark BRMC heart and a super casual swagger." (The Best of Myspace)
***
"Senses showcase their emotive lyrics, catchy melodies with their trade mark driving bass, epic, shoegaze-esque guitars with added piano and samples; imagine The Verve jamming with Arcade Fire." (Metro)

"Okay, so what do we have here? A single from a new(ish) outfit called Senses with a debut record...And, it's actually quite good. Lots of twanging guitars and thumping drums, with a touch of suitable angst to the lyric of being outcasts (even, dare, it be said, a hint of a nod in the direction of the late Mr Cobain's pensive introspection). But, then again, with the Coventry-based Senses having a foot in the shoegaze/indie genre, it's probably par for the course.
Although this is the band's first 'official' release, they did have an earlier outing in 2007 with 'Drifting' - a moody, mellow airy ride - on the Shifty Disco label, and were bigged up by the likes of radio 2 and Xfm. Taking a look at the production credit elicits Gavin Monaghan was behind the desk for this single. And when you have the man responsible for a raft of A-listers' top hits (including Kings of Leon, The Twang and Editors), you gotta think that Senses could be onto a winner with this track, taken from their forthcoming album." (Tom Cummings - allgigs.co.uk)

"Take the atmospheric 'Losing My Way' for example...some of the most intrinsic vocal harmonising this side of 'Scarborough Fair' ensure it's status as a worthy successor to BRMC's 'In Like The Rose' is secured."
***
"an adept nonchalence that many bands of an older stature spend years trying to achieve. And there you have it. The Senses - definitely ones to watch out for." (Dom Gourlay, Drowned in Sound)
***
Golden Sophoric tones to watch the sunset to (Lamacq - One Music, Radio 1)
***
Senses provided yet more irresistibly tuneful gems. Following the same kitchen sink approach to crafting perfect guitar pop which won Teenage Fanclub critical acclaim" (Simon Harper, BBC Website)
***
Senses lured me into their cradle of charming harmonies. The vocals simmer like a little fire on a giant lake of melody on my favourite track, Truly Beautiful Disaster. Self explanatory. And their influences include Stone Roses, which means that I'm sold. Senses have a knack for making sound that breaks apart but doesn't wither - it's disphoric yet comforting, and so fragile every chord feels like it could break apart in depth - like fractals. (The Hype Machine)

SENSES- Dense narcotic rocknroll (Bugbear)
***
Senses let their songs do the talking. They look good but don't overdo the rock 'n' roll demeanour. The swagger is in the music, not the pose, as if they know how good they are and don't feel the need to spit out attitude (Tony Foster, BH One)
***
It's a pleasant suprise to see a Coventry band on the former label of The Young Knives and Elf Power, but where these groups play trippy indiepop and angular art-rock, Senses are indebted to the heroes of classic British indie. Drifting's lavish, chiming melodies might owe a considerable nod to the sound of the 90's Manchester, but you couldn't wish for a more melodic trip down memory lane. (Karl Cremin, The Fly)

Widescreen, uplifting, anthemic. (This is Sound)
