FIRST REVIEW OF THE NEW RECORD "AD VITAM REDITI" from poisonfree.com
"Sentence are around for almost 10 years now, and released in my eyes some good and some not so good records. This new release surprises with good quality, and although this may sound a bit worn out, these 6 tracks are the best they ever recorded. Metalcore is still their sound of choice, quite massiv with a focus on mosh, and through that and other than happening today, still adding a lot of „core“ to their metal. As an addition, Sentence present a nice way of including emotions and feelings into their sound and at the same moment totally avoiding those trendy and whiny singing-things. The guitars add a dose of melodies, the rythms step back a bit – listen to the final of „broken glass“ or „a new law“ to know what I mean. Their singer screams his guts out all the time and offers some diversity through screaming and shouting. What I like especially is their songwriting. The songs are mostly quite long (4 – 5 minutes), but develop a good structure and through that keep your interest and surprise with some nice ideas at the right moment, be it a cool riff, some hectic fast part, some guest vocals and more. Mostly mid tempo, they add mosh or a guitar lead or some other elements right where it is necessary. Avoiding those tough guy clichés, Sentence often really sound pissed and aggressive, when another double base passage takes care of the diversity within their metal backbone. This is danceable as hell when it comes to those moments, and those moments of mosh are found on here a lot. Some southern rock, with those tuned down guitars, is visible as well and adds more quality. Musicianship is tight as well as the production and the great artwork in its digipack. Somehow, I thought of Grimlock, Arkangel and other metalcore bands of the late 90ies when listening to this, plus a bit of Cataract – Sentence present a really good pick for those searching for classic yet modern metalcore."
