I was born from a joke. Just a bit of sarcasm, the typical punchiness at the end of the day when the boss was away and the passion for whatever it is they were meant to be doing had long since punched out.
“That’s it!” she said, after receiving yet another message from the absentee boss stamped across the bottom with that insufferable message: "sent from my BlackBerry wireless handheld.”
“I’m creating a signature for those of us who can’t spend the day on the golf course,” she joked. For the rest of the day she made sure to include “Sent from my Dell Desktop” across the bottom of each of her messages.
The joke grew as they forwarded it around to friends who each started adding clever subheadings.
“I should start a blog with these,” she said at one point, and within minutes, "Sent from My Dell Desktop,” came to be...
