Born and raised in New York City, SicksentZ started his love
affair with music early on in life. With a mom very active in the
church choir, SentZ would often be at rehearsals sitting right next
to the drummer, emulating all of his moves as well as a 6 year old
could. From there it was clear that music was in his blood.
At a very early age, Sick's dad, a DJ at the time,
introduced him to all things hiphop. Countless sessions of spinning
everything from Rakim to De La Soul introduced him to an art form
that he'd continue to love for years to come. By age 12, he
mastered the fine art of pretending to pay attention in class, while
writing rhymes instead of lecture notes. After, realizing that no one
was going to hand him any major beats for free, the emcee decided to
also don the producer hat at age 14.
SentZ spent the next few years on the battle circuit, earning the
respect of his peers, and the frustration of his competition. As one
of the early members of the now split-up Black InQ family, the
emcee's songwriting improved constantly as he familiarized
himself with more and more aspects of music. You may have heard
SentZ' production on records for Dutch New York, Mickey Factz,
Fenaxiz, the 100 Gang, and others.
With years of experience under his belt, SicksentZ is gearing up
for the release of his debut album “Text and Theory”.
Completely self-produced, the album contains versatile hip-hop with a
focus on top shelf lyricism, and creative beats. Songs like “Smooth”
and “I Get Down” are sure to get the masses moving, while
deep tracks like “Masks (Identity)” and “Welcome”
will remind people of what a real emcee should sound like.
SicksentZ is also available for DJ gigs in the New York
