In the early 90s Tobi regularly went to Hamburg, especially because of the reggae und dub parties and the new sound they played. Faszinated by the soundystems there - especially by „Silly Walks“ and „Ire Hifi“ - he started buying his first reggae records and provided his circle of friends in Heidelberg with mixtapes. In1996 - together with his friend Rene - Tobi founded the first reggae soundsystem in the Rhein-Neckar-region - called „Senzi Sound“. The first partys took place in the „Autonomous Centre“ and in „Karlstorbahnhof“. In the last mentioned place they are still residents. At that time they were considered as exots and often booked on big techno or jungle events like „Sounds of Life“ or „Future“. Soon they started organizing events by themselves. In 1997 for the first time „Silly Walks“ - their friends from Hamburg – with their at that time current MC „Gentleman“ - have been their guests. In 1998 they organized their first open air event at the „Hamburger Hafengeburtstag“ in the famous „Hafenstrasse“ in St. Pauli, together with their friend Pinki. Thereon numbers of parties in the location called „Volxküche“, there among the party series „Fight Night“, followed. Today „Senzi Sound“ can look back on numerous gigs both at home and abroad. They have been on stage with „Silly Walks“, „Gentleman“, „Concrete Jungle“, „Love Tank“, „Supersonic“, „Boss-Hifi“, „Caramelo & Criminal“ and many others. In 2001 Nic became a new member of the sound. As operator he supports the soundsystem with soundeffects and samples. Musically „Senzi Sound“ never constituted on a well-defined style. Whereupon they mainly focused on reggae and dancehall music – especially roots and conscious reggae. Always opend up for new things today also Soca , Calypso, Cumbia and Reggaeton are part of their programme. Last but not least since DJ Dewill, a German-Columbian, enriched the sound with his fiery latino-style. „Senzi Sound“ collaborated with several MC's, the longest period with their friend „General J.“. Today mostly „MC Lobstarr“ from „Les Babacools“ supports them with his entertainment and singing. Finally we should say that for „Senzi Sound“ it is all about the massive and first of all the dancers. Schon in den frühen 90ern zog es Tobi regelmässig nach Hamburg,besonders wegen den Reggae und Dub Parties und den für Deutschland neuen Sound der dort gespielt wurde.Fasziniert von den dortigen Soundsystems,ganz besonders von Silly Walks und Ire Hifi begann er seine ersten Reggae Schallplatten zu kaufen und seinen heidelberger Freundeskreis mit Mixtapes zu versorgen.1996 war es dann soweit und zusammen mit seinem Freund Rene gründete Tobi das erste Reggae Soundsystem im Rhein Neckar Kreis,Senzi Sound. Die ersten Parties fanden dann im heidelberger Autonomen Zentrum und im Karlstorbahnhof statt.Im letzteren sind sie bis heute Residents. Galten sie damals noch als Exoten und wurden sie somit desöfteren auf Techno oder Jungle Grossevents wie „ Sounds of Life“ oder der „Future“ gebucht , kam es schon bald zu den ersten selbstorganisierten Events. 1997 waren dann zum ersten Mal ihre hamburger Freunde Silly Walks mit deren damaligen MC Gentleman zu Gast. 1998 organisierten sie in Zusammenarbeit mit Freund Pinki ihr erstes Open Air Event in der St.Pauli Hafenstrasse auf dem hamburger Hafengeburtstag. Darauf folgten zahlreiche Parties in der dortigen Volxküche , u.a. die Partyreihe „Fight Night“. Heute können Senzi Sound auf zahlreiche Auftritte im In- und Ausland zurückblicken. Gemeinsam standen sie schon mit Silly Walks , Gentleman , Concrete Jungle , Love Tank , Supersonic , Boss-Hifi , Caramelo & Criminal u.v.m. Auf der Bühne. 2001 wurde Nic neues Soundmitglied. Er sorgt als Operator seitdem für Soundeffekte und Samples. Musikalisch konnten sich Senzi Sound nie auf einen klar definierten Stil festlegen wobei es sich im Grossen und Ganzen um Reggae und Dancehall dreht. Ihr Schwerpunkt liegt dabei bei Roots und Conscious Reggae. Immer schon ein offenes Ohr für Neues , gehören heute aber auch Soca , Calypso , Cumbia und Reggaeton mit zum Programm,nicht zuletzt seit DJ Dewill ein Deutsch-Kolumbianer den Sound mit seinem feurigen „Latino Style“ bereichert. Senzi Sound arbeitete schon mit verschiedenen MC's zusammen , die längste Zeit mit ihrem Freund General J . Heute sorgt meistens MC Lobstarr von der Band „Les Babacools“ für Entertainment und Gesang. Abschliessend zu sagen ist , dass für Senzi Sound immer die Massive und v.a. Die Tänzerinnen und Tänzer im Vordergrund stehen. So sind gute Vibes und gute tanzbare Musik für Senzi Sound ein Muss!
