The Bellows started out playing as an acoustic three piece, playing quieter venues where their original songs would be appreciated. Simon, Cain and Dan worked on building up their catalogue and working on getting their sound together. The range of influences upon the band are very diverse. The band's tastes pull the sound in all directions, from punk to metal, goth rock or bluegrass. 'No music is bad, as long as it is good' is the general consensus. All of the group have an appreciation of folky, rootsy sounds that is where the original sound tended to rest. However, deep down all the members wanted to make more noise. A drummer was clearly needed. Into the breach stepped Kiwi Annie and the current line up was complete. Adding some beats beefed up the band's sound and the band are now getting out there, playing stacks of gigs and having some fun.
