It all started freshmen year in high school in the Fall of 2001. Forest Burns and I (Alan Davis) met in geography class and decided to get together and jam. I was studying Jazz and Orchestra bass at the time. And had been for three years up to that point. And Forrest new how to play really fast. He had his own and unique style of playing the guitar with no guitar training background.
We both released our first demo when we were 15 years old. We didn't necessarily know what we were doing at the time. But we knew we had something special. Forest wrote all the songs. While I added the drums and bass.
We had a total of about 15 amazing songs that we worked on over a period of seven years since 2001. We were ready to start performing amazing shows and release high quality demos..
About a month before our first show the guitar player and song writer Forrest Burns decided to stab somebody. He is now serving a three year sentence.
The songs on this page that have the really bad sound quality were recorded on an 8 track recorder with Forest on guitar. The really good sound quality ones were recorded at Impaler Records. Elmo Poteet on lead vocals. And I (Alan Davis) doing the rest.

How Many Emo Kids Does It Take To Screw In A Lightbulb??
Well, first you have the one who finds the light-bulb burnt out... he sits there and swings the chain back and forth, monologuing in the dark about how poetic the experience is... He goes upstairs and tells his drummer who's packing up his pink gibson guitar. The drummers totally stoned, takes a spare light bulb down, and screws it in. He drops the light-bulb, gets scared by the crash, falls off the ladder, getting a concussion, and bleeds to death from the shards of glass stuck in his wrist. So everyone thinks he killed himself and they hold a big candlelight ceremony for him and everyone plays crappy music. There's no light-bulb cause it's candlelight. No one goes in the basement for a while cause it's where the drummer died and well, it's dark cause no one replaced the light-bulb. The bassist's mom comes over one day to help her move her son out cause the band broke up. She has to go into the basement for boxes. She clicks the light, nothing goes on, so she gets a new light-bulb from the closet and changes it.

Alright, check this out. I was browsing all of the bands that have Myspace profiles in Grand Junction. I came across the band known as Black Wensday. Seeing as how I personally have never seen or heard this band, but I HAVE heard a lot about them, I figured that I would check 'em out. Not expecting much, I hit "Play". Upon completion of the song, I was left wondering if this was some sort of joke song. You know, the "We were just fucking around" type of song. But after some thought, and a glance into their pictures, I was left to draw this conclusion: They fucken suck. How can anyone take that shit seriously? Alan, you got more musical talent in your ear lobe than any of those guys have chosen to display. It is sad, because that type of "music" is garnishing a lot of attention right now, and I am imagining that most of it is based on image, not on sound. On that note, maybe what is holding you back is in fact not a lack of a drummer, but a lack of MAKE UP!!
I like the new version of that song. Your right, though. That is by far the shittyest recording yet. You can barley hear ANY of the drums, and the sad part is, I think that is the best drum performance by you. You need to get a drummer with a recording studio...That is the solution to all of your problems. HAve you given anymore thought to moving to Fort Worth for a summer if you cant find a drummer? We would be more than happy to have ya, man. WHen I get back, of course.
