The story starts with Adrian (Cesos) and Necrotic-Fleshrot (Joey) back in 2000 or 2001 (I honestly can't remember) in high school. Adrian had only been playing guitar for about a year or so and Joey had absolutely no experience with any instrument whatsoever. Joey thought it was cool that Adrian played guitar so he decided to buy a drum set and learn to play.
For the next couple of years Adrian and Joey would jam together in Adrian's basement, deciding to never play any covers and only write original (and mostly lousy) material. They would also join many different side projects, earning experience along the way.
In 2002 they decided to finally name the project and start looking for more members to complete the outfit. Sepulcro was the name Adrian would choose. They wrote their first "single", "The Butcher", now a fan favorite, a few months later and decided to record it as a demo track to showcase to potential new members. The song was recorded with the help of Steve "Tuco" Jacobs (Diabolic Possession, Nasferatu, The Filthy Few) on bass.
The first member to join the band was Kyle (Ky) on vocals. His vocals were on the first recorded inception of the song and he was also lead vocalist when the band performed at Omaha Metalfest 2. Soon after Kyle joining we found James (Carnal Necropsy) to play bass for us and Necrotis of "Gravestorm" helped fill in on backing vocals and secondary guitar. Kyle left the band soon after. I think it was due to musical differences. We're still buddies with him!
Undaunted the band pressed on and decided to record a full demo contaning 5 original tracks. The band entered the studio in 2004 and recorded "Escape of the Unborn". Joey and Adrian would perform all vocal duties on the recording as well as future shows. Shortly after the recording Necrotis would leave the band to pursue "Gravestorm " full time. Many more great gigs would follow and the band gained a small, but faithful following.
In 2005 new material was being written and the search for another singer and a possible second guitarist began. There was a few promising auditions but nothing ever really came into fruition. During that summer Joey would announce his leaving the band because he was moving away. At almost the same time Ch(o)ad (Selvmord) would try out and ultimately become the new vocalist.
The hunt for a new drummer began and things looked bleak until Adrian came upon Anthony (Homeslicer) at an audition for drums for Diabolic Possession. Anthony was a perfect replacement for Joey and the band forged on, writing new material and playing more gigs all the while gaining a bigger fan base in and outside of Omaha. During this time period the band acquired a second guitarist, Jeff, for a short while. Jeff played a few gigs but after a while it seemed Jeff lost interest and left the band.
Jump forward to 2007. Joey came to his senses and moved back to Omaha. Around this time the band decided to let go of Ch(o)ad and Joey re-joined the band as vocalist.
I was with this line-up that the band recorded 3 new tracks and re-recorded 2 classic tracks for a split with Manias.
2008 also saw the departure of James from the band. James was just too busy with his personal endeavors to continue. Right around this time the band played a benefit show and met bassist Bobby. After breaking him in he proved a worthy addition to the band.
This is the current line-up (2009) and while we might look for another guitarist to fill out the sound we don't foresee any major changes happening any time soon. The band is currently writing new material and hopes to re-enter the studio to record a full length entitled "The Embellished Murders," this Spring. Stay Tuned and Stay Brutal!
