Bio
Portland, Oregon based Sequel had many regional radio hits in the early to mid '80's and toured with bands such as Journey, Sammy Hagar, Bryan Adams, The Tubes, Triumph, Aldo Nova, Icehouse and Greg Kihn, to name a few. Bass player Todd Jensen, after leaving Sequel, hooked up with Deen Castronovo to form Hardline in 1992 (featuring Neal Schon of Journey fame), then toured with former Van Halen front man David Lee Roth, and later traveled the world playing with Steve Perry of Journey, Free / Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers, and also, Alice Cooper. Guitarist Greg Georgeson currently plays with Tommy Tutone's traveling band.....Sequel's 1982 best selling debut album which was released on CD for the first time in 1996 contains all of the vinyls' excitement and includes the KGON Radio Homegrown Album winner "Shame On You"! Tracks that garnered airplay in addition to Shame On You include: A Fool For You, Too Far and Just A Summer Romance.....In 1983, they were arguably Portland's most hit laden and hard working band. Sequel were in constant contact with several major labels when Roy Thomas Baker, (producer for Queen, The Cars, Journey, Foreigner, etc.) who was at that time President of Elektra Asylum's A & R Department, heard their 2nd album and asked the band to "shelve" the product so that Elektra could release as new. Tentatively titled "Daylight Fright" after their hit single of the same name charted in the Top Ten of northwest radio, they agreed to withold the release until Mr. Baker could present the band to the rest of the Elektra Asylum decision makers. Months passed, and then the inevitable - the band breaks up..........Years later, a few phone calls are made which set the stage for several re-union shows and the long overdue release of 'Daylight Fright' which was plucked from tapes that were allowed to "ripen" for 20 years and resurrected to coincide with a "Delayed Release" (12/27/03) reunion concert at downtown Portland's Roseland Grill. Sequel opened the show for Loverboy at Vancouver, Washington's "Hot Summer Night" held at Esther Short Park on July 16, 2004.....An album of all new material entitled 'Back' is available now through Perris Records!....*PLEASE NOTE* Although this is the Official SEQUEL MySpace it is not maintained by the members themselves.
