| About Seraph Abdiel |
Seraph Abdiel is an art project. Seraph Abdiel currently has three members, Garrett, Erick, and Blue. As Seraph Abdiel and as individuals, our primary goal is to bring glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Seraph Abdiel is not a "Christian Band." We are Christians in a band.
Seraph Abdiel is a melodic metal/experimental band from LaGrange, Georgia. However, we also frequently do sets of worship covers on the side.
ABOUT THE NAME:
Two questions we always get are, "How do you say your name?" and "What does it mean?"
The name sounds like [SAIR] (as in AIR or HAIR) [SAIR-if AB-deal]. Seraph Abdiel.
The name comes from John Milton's epic poem "Paradise Lost," which is the story of Creation and begins with Adam and Eve. During the poem, Milton provides the back-story to the fall of Satan. In one scene, Satan gathers his army together to try to convince them to rebel against God along with him. All of Satan's army rebels and is cast out of heaven, except for one angel: Seraph Abdiel. Seraph Abdiel was the only angel of Satan's army that refused to sin. The end. That's not the end of Milton's poem, of course, but it's the end of our explanation.
