Seraphim Pictures's Blurbs |
About me:
"Seraphim" n. The first of the nine orders of angels in mediaeval angelology. Plural of Hebrew Seraph, meaning "fiery serpent" from saraph, "to consume with fire."
Company Profile
Seraphim Pictures is an independent production partnership based in South Wales, UK that creates documentaries and short films alongside corporate movie promotions. Combining the partners' experience of film production and acting with marketing and new media expertise, we deliver content that it is individual and innovative, economic and effective.
We're a hybrid production company, mixing corporate and creative projects and maintaining the same production values for all our customers. Our creative services include documentaries, short films and music videos filmed in High Definition. Having been accredited by the 59th Cannes Film Festival for our first short film The Things Unsaid in 2006 we feel confident in providing high quality creative work with its own individual flavour and a fresh perspective on the subject matter.
Our documentaries tend to focus on entertainment and the arts. Behind-the-scenes and fly-on-the-wall style programmes are a favourite - we like getting into the meat of a story and focusing on content that might otherwise go unnoticed. For 2008 we're looking to shift focus towards the entertainment genre with some light and individual docu-soaps. There are some ambitious plans to produce work in Los Angeles, but we're also developing some home-grown observational documentaries.
Previous Creative Work
I Found Love (2008) - a music video for up-and-coming R&B artist Lankai
The Things Unsaid (2006) - a short, reality-TV-style, 'mockumentary' film that featured at The Short Film Corner of the Marche du Film at Cannes 2006.
Through the Rain (2006) - a privately-distributed behind-the-scenes-documentary following Bridgend County Youth Theatre's production of "Singing in the Rain".
It's My Shout (2005) - a three-part behind-the-scenes documentary mini-series for ITV Wales, featuring the voice-over talents of Rob Brydon, Owen Teale, and Lauren Phillips.
Behind the Line (2005) - a privately-distributed behind-the-scenes-documentary of the Cardiff International Festival of Musical Theatre Production of "A Chorus Line".
Future Projects
We're currently developing "Little Dylan" - a documentary about the early life of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. The programme aims to identify the early influences on his later works: the people, the places, the experiences of his life in Swansea, South Wales. We'll be covering everything from his birth to the publishing of "And Death Shall Have No Dominion" which launched his career at age 19.
Elsewhere some of our other pitches are being considered on both sides of the Atlantic, it looks as if we're staying within the documentary genre for the time being!
