In today’s fashion industry we have seen many new clothing lines being brought about by many up and coming clothing designers. One in particular that is being spotlighted out in the Midwest is Serenity Brand Clothing. The designer behind this signature collection is 23 year old, Rodnell Harris from Chicago. Mr. Harris was born November 18, 1985 and raised on the Westside of the city. He graduated from Farragut Academy in 2004 where he earned a basketball scholarship to play for Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida. Due to his first and only child, Anerias, being born in 2006, Mr. Harris decided to come back to his hometown to be with his son. It was in July 2008 when Mr. Harris decided to establish the Serenity Brand Clothing collection. He already had in mind the vision and direction for the brand; and that was to give women a brand of clothing they would not only find appealing, but could also become part of their lifestyle. The inspiration to Mr. Harris was from none other than Jesus Christ. He explained that he felt Jesus sent a blessing down that brought about a hidden talent that he held within himself and that is what inspired him to go forth with the Serenity line. There are also some important people who Mr. Harris has considered his mentors while creating the brand. Both his aunts, Jenell Jefferson and Eboni Hearn, along with the founder of Milk&Cookey Jean Company, Ty Carson, have all been there from the start with advice and guidance. The Serenity Brand is now being recognized and known for its fashionable designs of “Tops” such as t-shirts, tanks, jackets, hoodies, etc…but definitely plans to expand the line to include other garments of clothing. Serenity is marketed toward pre-teen girls, teenagers and adult women, and has been seen in many of the top fashion events to date. But what has been the talk about the Serenity line, outside of its apparel, is the signature logo for the company. It is described as a woman’s physique with stylish butterfly wings attached to the backside of the woman’s body. The Serenity Brand Clothing line has also established its signature clothing collection, which are t-shirts and tanks that carries the signature logo on them. It has been said that the Serenity collection can be compared to the well-known Baby Phat and BeBe brands. But how Mr. Harris wanted to differentiate the Serenity line from the two compared lines was its pricing of the apparel. The Serenity Brand Clothing holds the pricing on all apparel at an affordable and reasonable range for its consumers. With all the buzz and notoriety that Serenity has been getting, it is soon to be found in many department and boutique owned stores in Chicago and also throughout the country.
