Serenity Fails was founded in February 2004 by Dimitri and Bert. Both were driven by starting a new band after the dead of an unnamed-going-nowhere-band they were in, in which they were a singer and a guitarist respectively. Intentionally they would keep that line up in “Serenity Fails” though Dimi would start of as a guitarist until they found an other one and he would pick up the vocals afterwards. By now you might already know that it didn’t turn out that way…
Being both students in Leuven they got in contact with Tuur who was already playing in a punkrock-kinda band. As he was getting more and more into Hardcore, so he wanted to join their “band”. Also, somehow they picked up a bassplayer called Benny who played with them for about half a year. He left in a mysterious way.
After a while they found another drummer with to much time on his hands and a bass-guitar by luck..called Tom. Most people call him Jaak, so you decide how you want to call him. Not only did he just “own” a bassguitar. He could also play it! FAT LUCK FOR THEM! So they were finally complete…they just needed another guitarist.
One time someone actually contacted them to play with them, but since he played in a bigass band already (which I can’t remember anymore at this point) they decided not to hook up with him since they were all like…mediocre.
So FXXX finding another guitarist! The only thing actually missing was a singer. Dimi had a friend in his class who used to scream-a-long during shows…so…what the hell…he’s got a throat…let give’m a try. Luckely…it all turned out perfect and they finally were complete as you know them today.
They’re trying to bring emo/metalcore. I can’t really compare them with any other band. So if you ever think: “ Serenity Fails totally sounds like…” be sure to tell them. They’d appreciate it.
So for now…just get of you ass, look for people that set up shows or set up a show yourself and make sure they get asked to play!

Ik vond het super op de concours, jullie muziek is volledig m'n ding! En tof dat de rest van de jury en een groot deel van het publiek er ook zo over dachten! teenage lust is géén hype, teenage lust is gewoon goed ... SF had ik zelf ook wel graag gezien, want de vorige keer dat ik jullie zag is al een aantal jaar geleden. succes en hopelijk tot op één of ander podium.

Tja, ik had er geen idee van dat het al met ductape gerepareerd was. Want inderdaad, 7 groepen? Met zotten als die van Shredder én van The Setup? En de dag daarna nóg eens 9 groepen... Had sowieso niet goed gekomen. Maar ik wist écht niet dat het al eens half-en- halfgerepareerd was....

Prochaine date : Novembre (concours) peut être toujours avec la participation exceptionnel du NAMROCK Février (concert) Le fest (rock & hxc) en Avril 2009 avec (Deven, Kaptain k, Exil ….) Les dates sont en confirmation et les groupes seront annoncés prochainement.
hellooouu ... xd.. in croatia everythings all wright...y too bad in croatia metal music is not so much popular like in other countries.. but we are trying and and cheering for our metal core or other bands...
