About Serenity Falls - CD Release / Bella Morte Nov 20th
Serenity Falls is a progressive rock band from upstate NY city of Rochester. The band was initially founded in the fall of 2004 under singer/songwriter team of JD and Lisa. Their main concept was to come up with a band that was forward thinking, and yet accessible and not lost in it's own pretension. So many influences came to the table, but when it all was laid out the duo wrote and arranged songs that had their own stamp on them. The music began as dark and atmospheric, with echoey verses and heavy choruses. The duo released a 4 track demo simply called "EP" in early 2005.
Lineups and members came and went. The band began performing in Rochester and in other areas of upstate NY. Despite lineup setbacks, the duo persevered and continued performing and writing. Soon the band was playing bigger venues and opening up for national acts. In the summer of 2007, JD began writing a new set of songs with a totally new direction, this time including different flavors into the mix. Pop hooks, acoustic textures, longer and more complex songs...With Lisa's sense of melody and harmony, the new songs took form and became what would be their second set of recordings, which were completed in summer 2008. The new CD, entitled "A Story..." tells one story altogether, each song leading to the next.
Now with a solidified lineup and true chemistry between all four members, new shows and songs are on the way. The band hopes to continue to expand it's range into new cities and venues. Brian and Rob came as a package deal, and now the band is completed with the chemistry of two sets of best friends working together.
