"Watercolor Harmonies" is now available for purchase from CD Baby
Serenity Fisher was born into a musical family in Cincinnati, Ohio. Typical family road trips consisted of singing four part harmonies to songs such as the Beatles' tune "Nowhere Man." As a child, Serenity was dedicated to several creative pursuits including Irish dancing, music and theatre. After high school, she moved to northeast Ohio to study musical theatre at Kent State University. It was in college that Serenity first began writing music, inspired both by her journey as a creative person and her passion for social justice. In 2005, Serenity packed up her things and drove her blue Chevy Prism out to Oakland, California. She spent the next three years on a soul searching odyssey, chronicling her experiences through her song writing. During this time, she released her debut album, "Watercolor Harmonies," which included socially conscious songs such as "Butterfly" and "Lorelai Spinster" as well as more introspective songs such as "Along for the Ride" and "The Caterpillar Song."
Serenity currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she writes and performs original music. She draws inspiration from nature, life experience, her dreams and her imagination. Serenity's music intertwines the melodies of indie pop with elements of folk and musical theatre, while her playful lyrics display a unique voice and a complex world view. Serenity performs frequently in Cincinnati and is planning a tour for Spring and Summer of 2010. She is recording an album that will be released in Winter of 2009, and she is writing a musical titled, "The True Story of Andrina Butterwhiskers."
i had a dream last night that i was randomly somewhere, and then came across you and it was your wedding! and you had a baby! it was nuts, and I cried a lot cause I wasn't invited. and I didn't know you had a baby.
But of course, I know that would never happen ever, cause if you did have a wedding I know you'd invite me so I wouldn't have to freak out and cry.
I miss you! I'm out of town this weekend, but lets hang out soon!
Here are a couple of poems by a couple of poets in honor of Valentines Day. Feliz dia de San Valentin ! <3 SF (:
It’s only Love
It’s only this judgement bypass; nothing drastic. (I’m told they do it without anaesthesia.) It leaves your conscience supple as elastic. One of the side effects is mild amnesia: Facts get reshaped; pain slips your mind. Some blindness is normal. Sufferers claim to see heaven on earth ;stars in dull eyes; wit in unkindness. This commonly resists all treatment given. It’s not all bad. Granted, no flame retardant Will work: but still, the toxins are a tonic. The virus leaves you selfless, brave and ardent; Anyway, once you’ve got the thing, it’s chronic. Most people learn to live with the condition: What kills them is the terror of remission.
- Sheenagh Pugh The Look
Strephon kissed me in the spring, Robin in the fall, But Colin only looked at me And never kissed at all.
Strephon’s kiss was lost in jest, Robin’s lost in play, But the kiss in Colin’s eyes Haunts me night and day.
Dude your performance the other night kicked butt! Sorry I couldn't stay, I was starving and sick so we ended up grabbing food and heading to bed early. Seriously though, let me know when you'll be playing from now on so I can come listen again!
