Favorite: The Grapes of Wrath... sounds highbrow doesn't it? lol It's a good book though. Yes, I even managed to read War and Peace which turned out to be good. So many characters in that book...hence the 1000+ pages.
About me: I enjoy hiking, camping, music, writing and movies. I enjoy meeting new people and think everyone has their own unique story. It's why I majored in journalism. I was never interested in the "hard news". It's overplayed so much and the networks and papers don't have the kahunas to go after thier own individual stories. Instead they jump on the bandwagon. In the past I've enjoyed writing about bands, movies and social events. I'm no longer in the field because I found a better-paying job.
I still enjoy writing however. I live near the parkway and enjoy hiking up there every once in awhile with my beagle.
I would say I'm laid back, funny...with a large amount of goofiness blended in.
I believe we are all works in progress and I guess now I am under reconstruction in body and spirit, trying to evolve into what I should be or at least closer to it. Needless to say my life has taken a few detours as I am sure everyone else's has at some point.
In January of 2007 I was hit head-on by a drunk driver and it changed my life forever. I suffered a ruptured aorta, a compound fracture below my left knee, a crushed elbow, a fractured right ankle, two black eyes, a chipped front tooth, large and small intestinal injuries among other things. I am proud to say I have recuperated right nicely and have very few lingering effects. I remember being wheeled into the E.R. and asking an aide if I was going to live and he said he wasn't sure, they had to find out where I was bleeding internally. Needless to say since hearing that I have considered everyday since then a bonus and am loving life. I am very blessed to have been able to tell everyone I loved what I had always wanted to tell them before I die. Some people never get that chance.
