Too many to fit in one page some of
my favorite music is listed here but i keep adding good stuff to my
collection
Music is nutrition for your senses
and these are some of all times favs of mine
1. Bring on the Night Sting A real
masterpiece. Sting is a rock star who calls upon the most in-demand
"jazz" guys to create a new unique way of playing great pop music.
Everything on this live record is tasteful and soulful. The Kenny
Kirkland solo on the opening two-track suite is legendary. Omar Hakim
(drums) and Darryl Jones (bass) are a refreshing and funky rhythm
section and it's all topped with killer solos by Branford Marsalis.
This is how jazz can help, through pop music, to educate anybody to
enjoy better music.
2.Still Warm John Scofield It is
unfortunately out of print, but this title is my favorite Scofield
recording mostly because the compositions are great and the late Don
Grolnick ..s makes everything so tasteful. Omar Hakim and Darryl Jones
are simply a groove machine.
3. We Want Miles Miles Davis Killer
live album with electric Miles backed up by the "electric boys."
Bassist Marcus Miller and guitarist Mike Stern indeed went a long way
after this. No ProTools, no tricks, just pure live energy...the way it
should be! A must!
4. The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1
Earth Wind & Fire Next to the word "funky" in the dictionary
should be a picture of this album cover. You can't stop moving when you
listen to it.
5.L is for Lover Al Jarreau One of my
favorite singers at his best. The compositions are great, the sounds
are phenomenal, and the cast, with Steve Ferrone (drums), Philippe
Saisse (piano), and Nile Rodgers on guitar, makes this a soulful
favorite.
6.Life on Planet Groove by Maceo Parker:
please let's be realistic this has to be the funkiest thing ever. And i
was lucky enough to study with mr. Kenwood Dennard himself.
Him and Maceo do a duet on the first track that it's like the
conversation between two nobel prizes graduated at the groovology
university on Funk City. Please...Comon....get it!
Some of my
favorite songs:
What the World Needs Now by Burt Bacharach, Ain't No Mountain High
Enough (Marvin Gaye & Tammi Tarrell version),Lesley Ann by David
Sanborn, Another Day by Sting (Studio single version), In Your Eyes by
Dan Siegel and Boney James, Questione di Feeling by Mina e Cocciante,Io
Canto (Riccardo Cocciante and Laura Pausini, both versions),Lascia che
io Sia (Nek radio Edit), Il Pranzo e' servito written by Bellotti and
D'Agostino,Take Your Time by the SOS band,And i am telling i am not
going by Jennifer Hudson,Stronger then Before by Chaka Khan, Gatekeeper
by Feist,Prologue from Quincy Jones Back on the Block,Secret Garden by
El De Barge and Barry White,Careless Whisper by Michael Jackson,Rule of
thumb by John Scofield,La belle dame sans regrets by Sting,Shamelle by
the Police,The day will come by Philip Bailey ..i am sure i am
forgetting some..
