Serial Sickness is a North West based electronic music label that releases House music of mostly the funky upbeat variety. The label was founded back in 1999 by collaborators Dj Flipsta, DRJ, and Forrest Avery. Put on hiatus for several years, in 2008 it was relaunched by Forrest as digital release label. After only one year of operation, it is already one of the premier house labels of the North West. The releases are all aimed to rock the dance floor proper, but feature a variety in sound and style. The main goal of the label is to showcase new, up & coming, and established producers from the North West in collaboration with producers from around the world. In addition to their North West artist roster, so far the label has signed many top notch acts including Real Time Hand Motion, Hoodfellas, Scrubfish & Nate Laurence, Jangatha, Bill Preston, Combined, Thomas White of Natural Rhythm, Uriah West, Ted Logan, Precious Roy, Dj Rescue, High Maintenance, Wattie Green, and Rithma. The list goes on, and continues to grow as Serial Sickness keeps spreading the illness.
SS012 - Sick of Summer
Rescue w/ remixes by Thomas White
We're tired of beating the heat, and ready to get our chill on for the Winter. A change of season is always a good way to shake things up. Here in the Northwest this time of year is kind of like a nice smooth mix between your 2 favorite tracks. The heat of Summer blends steadily, and not too sharply into cooler temps, and then the change in color brings it's own kind of warmth to your soul. Before you know it, there's snow on the ground, and it's time to hit the slopes. The nights get chilly, and people start to head back to the clubs due to the lack of outdoor events, and general need to get ones groove on for various purposes such as not freezing your ass off. We would personally rather shake it off ;)

Previous News(10/12/09):
We've been busy signing releases over the past month, and are excited to add some dope new artists to our roster. Hot new additions to the infected batch of heads include Corduroy Mavericks, Wattie Green, and Funk Mediterraneo. In addition we have nabbed up some ill cuts from new comer to the production scene Shane Maher, and are proud to announce his first headlining release on Serial Sickness "Playing Dirty" due out soon! We also have some other major players were working out details with that should be finalized soon, so keep your ears peeled.
One of the main reasons for this frenzy of release signing; which actually put us about 2 weeks behind, was to get a good back log of releases going. Now we can make sure to keep a regular release schedule of 2 per month, so that we can keep everyones fever up, and make sure you're all feeling the heat we're dropping!
SS011 - Politics Make Me Sick
Various artist release featuring Bill Preston, Funk Mediterraneo, Forrest Avery & Derty D, and Andrew Mataus.
Sorry for the delay on this one. Thought it was going to get out to all the sites before Halloween, but there were some unforeseen delays. The good news is that the funk has finally hit the fan. This release symbolizes both the views we take in regard to Politics here at the label. That of both hope, but also(and for the most part) comic cynicism. We wanted to offer up variety of styles on this one to please different pallets, and get the "message" out to as may registered house heads as possible.
SS010 - Sexy Lady
Thomas White w/Miles Airon, and bonus T White(SupaFly) Remixes
We've been waiting to drop this hotness on you for a minute now, and the time has finally arrived. For the 10th release we wanted to spread some serious illness, and who better to do that then another of our all time favorite producers of quality house music; Thomas White! Also know for his work in the classic house production duo Natural Rhythm, this cat really needs no introduction.
SS009 - The Hair In My Mouth
Precious Roy w/High Maintenance, ATOM Remixes
Precious Roy; the alter ego of minimal/glitch producer ATOM hailing from New York, brings out the quirky producers more jackin edge for Serial Sickness. Still staying true to his sound you will hear lots of his signature quirky chopped up craziness, but he takes it up a notch on this one with some extra funk for ya trunk just the way we like up here in the North West. On remix duties we have High Maintenance out of Dallas Texas taking a bit of the quirk out, and replacing it with some more straight jack for dat ass to give you a different take on Head Thumpin. On the other hand we have ATOM surprising us with an extra nutty alternate version of Twisted Hairpiece Elegance that gets just off the handle with it's percussion.
SS008 - The Motion Sickness EP
Real Time Hand Motion w/Scrubfish & Laurence Mix
The Motion Sickness EP features original work from Real Time Hand Motion with an off the chain remix by Scrubfish & Nate Laurence. Don't forget to peep the bonus collaboration track by Forrest Avery & Derty D vs Crux of RTHM.
SS007 - Infectious(Year 1 Remixed)
Various Artists
We started the year off with a remix package featuring some updated versions of some of our favorite tracks from 2008 by a variety of top notch artists including The Hoodfellas, Crux of RTHM, Nathan Stewart of Backseat Bing, Precious Roy, and Combined .
Where do such "sick" tracks come from you ask? Why the Valley of Sickness of course. Label founders, and many of the producers on our label hail from the North West in an area called the Willamette Valley. There is a widespread belief in Oregon that Willamette means “Valley of Sickness” in some extinct Native American language. I guess they knew what they were talking about, because we got some pretty sick people up here ;) It must be in the water I guess. This final release of 2008 featured a 4 way debut of new producers all from up here in the The Valley Of Sickness.
SS005 - Air Sickness
Jangatha w/Dj Flipsta, and Forrest Avery & Derty D Remixes
The first headlining release for now established, and then up and coming producer Jangatha, these tracks quality still holds up next to this kids latest work; which just keeps getting better btw. We snagged up these gems from our boy back before he started blowing it up all over the place on labels like 6th Sense, Uma, Market House Meats, and Guesthouse!
The first Serial Sickness release featuring well established north west Dj, and promoter Andrew Mataus from the Gaia Tribe. Having just got his feet wet with a release on Amfibius, Andrew was/is still relatively new to the production scene, but he came out burning up the floor with these bad boys. You can also find more work from Andrew under his production duo alias The Night Owls that he formed with his long time friend, and musical cohort Dave Dluxx.
SS002 - The Derty D EP
Derty D w/remix from Forrest Avery
Another debut release of a North West artist. The Derty D EP featured solo projects from our boy Derty D. At the time D was a recent transplant from the Midwest, but he was already well on his way establishing himself as one of the dopest producers of the scene. Instantly embraced for his funky style that fit right in with what we like up round these parts, D has since gone on to do remixes for Bridge City, Midwest Hustle, and Junk Shop. In addition he has rocked a steady stream of collaboration projects with Forrest Avery, as well as a few 3 way projects that also included Crux of Real Time Hand Motion.
SS001 - Serial Sickness 001
Forrest Avery & Dj Flipsta
Not only the debut of the label in general, but also the production debut of label owner Forrest Avery. Backed up with a quality supporting track from longtime friend Dj Flipsta; who had recently established the label Bridge City, this one was the start of it all, and laid the groundwork for the funk that ensued.
