Serie B comenzo su viaje hace diez años, y desde ese momento ha evolucionado desde un fanzine fruto de la aspiracion de llenar un hueco en el desolado panorama mediatico de la epoca hasta su situación actual: 116 paginas con una cuidada impresion asi como una ferrea distribucion especializada en toda España que traspasa nuestras fronteras para llegar a los lectores de Mejico, Chile, Venezuela, Puerto Rico y USA. La raiz del proyecto es el hip-hop, pero este entendido no como una restriccion sino como una actitud frente a las cosas. En esencia, la idea que se esconde detras de lo que dio origen a esta expresión sub-cultural es recoger todo, con interes y curiosidad, sin dejarse atrapar por fundamentalismos absurdos. Igual que los pioneros juntaron discos de funk, salsa y rock para generar algo nuevo, en Serie B nos acercamos a la actualidad con ese mismo enfoque. No se trata de una revista que habla de hip-hop, sino que se plantea su linea editorial con ese interes por descubrir cosas nuevas y generar con ellas algo nuevo. Serie B es una revista donde la musica, el graffiti, el arte y otras expresiones de la cultura popular urbana tienen su espacio, desde el vandalismo sobre trenes hasta las galerias que ahora acogen a los jovenes grafistas salidos de la calle. Desde el rap mas ortodoxo hasta otras formas de musica que buscan no repetir el cliche. A traves de reportajes en profundidad, perfiles, entrevistas y repasos de la actualidad de muchas de las expresiones que tienen lugar las ciudades de nuestro post-moderno mundo, nuestra revista intenta construir una foto de lo que esta pasando, con una optica adulta y por momentos ironica. Una publicacion donde el mainstream no se mira con odio sino con perspicacia y humor, donde se analiza y no se prejuzga y donde sus colaboradores y redactores saben bien de lo que hablan. Serie B started its journey 10 years ago, and from that point it has developed from a fanzine aimed to fill a gap in the desolated Spanish media scene of that time to what it is today: 116 pages with a good printed quality aswell as a tight specialiced distribution in Spain that also reaches overseas readers in Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and USA. The root of the project is hip hop, but hip hop not seen as a restriction but as an attitude towards things. In essence, the idea that was behind the origin of this sub-cultural expression was to recolect everything, with curiosity and interest, without following stupid dogmatisms. Like those pioneers who put together funk, salsa and rock records in order to build something new, Serie B looks at what is happenning with the same approach. Its not a magazine that speaks about hip hop, but a magazine that defines its editorial line with an interest for discovering new things and create something new from them. Serie B is a magazine where music, graffiti, art and other expressions of popular urban culture have a space, from graffiti vandalism on trains to the galleries that now give room to the new young graphic artists who come from the streets. From the orthodox rap music to other forms of sounds that try not to repeat cliches. Through deep reports, profiles, interviewes, reviews and news pieces of whats happening in the cities of the post-modern world we live in, our magazine tries to build a picture of this era with an adult and, at times, ironic approach. A magazine where mainstream is not hated but seen with perceptiveness and humor, where analisis eliminates prejudice and where its contributing writers know about what they are talking about.
