Liam is the voice behind the critically acclaimed 'COUSTEAU' - Indie Label Global Warming Records released their eponymous debut album, which received rave reviews quickly selling out 3000 copies. The band then signed to Major Label Palm Pictures who re-released the album and it went on to sell more than 220,000 copies internationally. Liam McKahey brings us his debut solo album 'Lonely Road' with his musicians The Bodies.
"dreamily, dark but melodic melancholic pop balladry conjuring comparisons to Scott Walker, Tindersticks, Nick Cave and Jackie Leven" "a divinely dark, cinematic outing full of beauty "I’ve been struggling to pick highlights, because the album is so strong, but ‘Lovers & Fools’ ‘Inscription’ and ‘Unheeded Tidings’ are particularly special. Hows things? Thought I'd drop by and let you know that we are playing our last big show of the year in London. We're hosting and headlining at The Monarch which is in Camden on Wednesday 2nd December. It would be really cool if you could make it along and join in the fun, its shaping up to be a pritty cool party atmosphere :-)
Anyway, I hope your having a good weekend, drop us a comment and let us know how things are with you. Take Care Crawf xxx
I'm really glad to let you all know that we've just agreed a deal with a major broadcaster which will see AmericanaOK selected tunes on air, worldwide, 24/7 from January 2010. Watch this space for details.
Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.
International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.
Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.
