   About serpentine smile
Serpentine Smile are Paul and John who share a love of good music, good tea and each other. They came together through a previous band and have decided to continue their beautiful and very musical relationship through Serpentine Smile.

Recently they have received much airplay, recorded a session for BBC ATL and have been described by DJs as both 'beautiful' and 'gorgeous'. The music that is. They have also just recorded their debut single 'This Is As Cool As We Sound' at Start Together Studios, Belfast. The single also features the track 'Eighteen Arches'.

Get it NOW from CDBaby where it is described as 'beautifully-crafted indie pop magic'.

"Guitars that chirp like a bird with a broken wing, a singer whose tender cadences speak directly to the soul and skittering lo-fi electronica flourishes, Serpentine Smile are a pleasingly different outfit."
AU Magazine

"'This Is As Cool As We Sound' is a jerky crazed piece of music, imagine Devo relocated to Belfast and you'll understand... 'Eighteen Arches' has the maudlin quality of Trash Can Sinatras, and is similarly non-self pitying. Half way through it has an epiphany and rallies itself into some chugging guitar and lovely harmonies."
Russell Barker, Russell's Reviews

"Self-depracating songs about how lame the band is usually are rubbish, but there's a lo-fi charm at work here. True, the Belfast duo employ the usual twee dayglo riffs typical of such affairs - but there's also a smart Ash counter melody in there. Plus, Paul's vocals turn unexpectedly hysterical halfway through so their Pixies obsession makes a sick sense."
John Earles, Planet Sound, Channel 4 Teletext

"Serpentine Smile proved that there isn't necessarily strength in numbers, by eschewing the standard band line up for just guitar and drums. But from the skeletal formation, they drag forth all manner of wonderful melodic constructs, occasionally throwing in the odd electronic flourish. Serpentine Smile powered through half an hour of inventive, melodic indie-rock, winning over even the most cold hearted skeptic with their charm and on-stage energy."
Steven Rainey, BBC ATL

three comments about one gig, that is madness. AND a text.
I have some plans for this evening, but I will see if I can persuade my plans to go to the show, but can't make any promises. You know what plans are like.

You know, I was actually thinking of going to this. Any idea of stage times though? I work until 9:30 and by the time I get a bus up the Ormeau Road it'll likely be after 10. I don't want to go if I can't see all three lovely lovely bands!

[I've never seen Sang By Fire before but I'm sure they are altogether lovely]
