Serpent is a Melodic Death Metal band hailing from Kobe, Japan. Serpent started off as a Heavy Metal band, but the whole music style changed when Keija listened to one of the In Flames songs in some CD store. The new style is close to old In Flames.
Biography: 1993: Keija starts a Heavy Metal band called 'Awaken'.
1994: The band got renamed as Serpent.
2000: The band splits up.
2002: Keija asks the old Guitarist Aki to re-start the band. Shortly after, the current bassist Hiro joins.
2003: Hiroki, the current guitarist and the support member Ken joins the band. First demo album 'Bloody Gates' and the self-titled EP album 'Serpent' gets released, but the album Serpent was only available at Live House.
2004: Tours Osaka and Kobe with one of the most well-known Melodic Death Metal band 'The Black Dahlia Murder'. New EP album 'Lunar Eclipse' was also released, but again, was only available at Live Houses. At the end of 2004, Aki, the old guitarist leaves the band.
2005: In January, they started recording their first full-length album 'Cradle of Insanity'. It was released on the 25th of May.
