"Their MySpace page claims the band has been described as 'Willie Nelson meets Nirvana' and 'Neil Young meets the Dead Boys,' but frankly whomever described it as such is most-ways deaf. It is nothing of the sort. It is Portland OR rock music circa 1991, make no mistake. And yet Erika Meyer’s voice is quite something else: she often reminds me of the raw-throated polemic of Vi Subversa—especially in the lyrical structure—and sometimes, when she really reaches into herself, as on the blistering 'Folding,' the unmatchable Thalia Zedek.
Band formed in 2004, with the longest standing members being Erika (vox/songwriting/guitar-playing/diva-bitch), Cyrus (original drummer, who has done fill-in work since 2005), and the adorable multitasking almost-sober chick-magnet bassist known as Skot. Somehow, these three managed to eke out time on Sundays during 2007 to record an album of sorts at Marty Vincelli's "Big House." Which is a house, that is big.
Many amazing musicians have supported this band by filling the rhythm slots for live shows, including Carl Keil, Morgan Grace, Sam Henry, Tom Drama, Tim Flanary, Carl Keil, nolan void, Susan Costa and M'liss.
Haha yeah somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic! Buy a big supergroup ship and gig it back and forth like benevolent pirates, kidnapping the youth from other ships and playing punk at them and ....I think my plan kinds runs out there......
Well thank you for your kind words, anyway, we get called a lot of things but rarely 'good'.
Well to contradict that LOCAL CUT review I just read Lindsey Lohan seems to do way more partying than actual work and Erika Meyer is the exact opposite.
Dear Serpentoniacs, I received the new album a few days ago, but saved it for my birthday, which is today. ...well, what can I say, I'm stunned. Just can't find the right words right now, but you can be sure that I like it very, very, very much....thanks for this riffalious piece of interhuman communication!
