Anyway...so yeah I'm Rachel-Porter. I play music. Lots and lots of music. I do some solo stuff but I'm not really into gigging (those of you who know me will know what it does me) so instead i'm slowly writing an album which can sit at the back of my to-do list for the next twenty years.
I write for a magazine called Is This Music? which everyone should buy because it's great. I also write fiction.
I don't like people who mess me about. It's just not cricket.
I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life but I like the freedom.
I'm moving to Italy after my degree.
My brother, Gill and Dave are the most important people to me. I love them more than anything.
I go to the QMU a lot with Alex and my homeboys. Tis always a good laugh.
I like short sentences.
I hate christmas but I am looking forward to going back home this year. I'll get to see my brother which is gonna be so good. Christmas for me is about getting drunk with him and watching box sets all day long.
I think I may have broken one of my ribs. It hurts a lot. I blame you.
Anyway, over and out kids.

"The Trick Is To Keep Breathing" by Janice Galloway, "Outer Dark" Cormac McCarthy, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, "Perfume" Patrick Suskind and Steppenwolf.
Heroes
Hmm... maybe Johnny Cash. He restored my faith in love.
About me: Hello. I am Rocky. Rocky is my name. I'm a student and I live in Glasvagas. I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with my life. I really don't mind. Generally I look like hell. My music project (Small man, big bow tie) will be available on myspace very soon.
I give very bad first impressions. If I can't be assed to talk to you then i probably won't.
I am not a good person and I suffer for it.
I hate the following things: spiders, sharks, sweet and savoury things together, hangovers, essays, Blink 182 (sorry), people putting me down, getting lost, being tickled, very hot rooms, very cold rooms, being festivly plump, bibliographies (oh lets all show how well read we are), people who have no banter and the word 'random'. You're not random. You're a twat.
I do however like the following things: Magnet and the other cronies, swimming with Ailsa, black and white films, crisps, funkfit, music, writing about music, conspiricy theories, my car, my parents, my brother, my flat, fairy lights, sex in the city, running around like I'm not lazy, people who call me Rocky, Club Noir, the QMU, Alexio, people who call me Porter, Dave and Martin, summer time, my aviators, my jacket, how much effort everyone put into my birthday, my ever changing accent, drugs, secrets, Bright Eyes, being busy, lying through my teeth, my stereo, my boy (very much), recording with Dave, Bright Eyes and Johnny Cash.
Full length album entitled "The Rescue," in stores now, worldwide at Best Buy and Hot Topic. Also available on ITunes and Smartpunk.com. Stop by and have a listen.

James Yorkston & Adrian Crowley (performing the songs of Daniel Johnston)

Dublin’s Adrian Crowley will join James on stage to sing the songs of Daniel Johnston. Expect solo sets and unique collaborations as the festival kicks off in style.
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff

Going through my friends list rather than just spamming everyone to let you know I have a new profile at:
myspace.com/urbanjoetv
Samples from my debut album 'While The World Was Dreaming' along with music video and links to the site of my online enchanted forest can all be found there!!
I've been hidden away at work on it all which is why this profile you added me on became so quiet!
I'm back now so click the link and listen into the world of Urban Joe!
peace on earth and happy Christmas. Sorry it's been like a year since I've left you a comment:)
been a very busy year.
hope all's great and you don't get frost-bite doing your Crimbo shopping:)
Also, do you have a profile on Kerchoonz.com ? it's pretty fun. There is a lot of music on the site and
games. It's like myspace except that when you listen for free or download songs it's totally free and the
bands get paid from the advert revenue and you can add songs and videos to your profile player (as many as you
want!)
Anyway, write me back and tell me what you want from Santa. I think Santa is from Scotland anyway:)
