MusicI Love Music. It's true. I couldnt live without it. How i survived listening to nothing but Queen, The Proclaimers and Beethoven for 17 years is beyond me. But i've recovered from that horrible state now and preside instead as a pseudo-metalhead, dabbling in a variety of other genres. Just some of the artists i recieve my enlightenment from are:

About me:
Seryn is:
- A University student in 4rd year of studying to be an Indiana Jones wanna-be, with the intention of taking the Nazi-fighting into space and beyond, Ie, majoring in Archaeology and Geology

- A Connoisseur of all things made of/pertaining to/smothered in cheese, and not just food-wise, but music and just about everything else.

- A Full-time music reveler, making up for the lost years of apathy by giving my eardrums a good blasting of everything melodious, particularly cheesy European power metal and just about anything from Finland. One day I intend to elope to Finland and spend the rest of my days drinking vodka and attending music festivals.

- A complete nerd, which basically means I spend half my time lost in some otherworld, either of my own devising or the latest book/video game/thing of awesome to attract my obsessive mind.

- The Founder, and quite possibly only member of The Cult of the Ayreonaut.

I don't really use Myspace anymore, other than for checking out the odd band. Having to trawl through the hordes of useless myspace whores and teeny-boppers to find the one or two other cool people who havn't abandoned the site for the greener pastures of facebook isn't worth it. If you happen to be one of those two people feel free to say hi though :)

MSN: daniel_blick@hotmail.com

Who I'd like to meet:
Hansi Kursch - The bard of metal
Arjen Lucassen - Master of the Rock-Opera
Tobias Sammet - The Love God of Pow Metal
Terry Pratchett - Master of the Wit
'Sir' Russell Allen
Jason Webley - Pure Genious and charismatic wonder ( Met and shaken hand of :)
Tuomas Holopainen
Tad Williams

Yes, we also share the first name of kings! I'm going straight for the msn add as it seems a more efficent method of communication. I hope that's okay. See you around.

oh by the way, do you know if they're doing any sideshows to Screamfest in Sydney, or are the all in Melbourne? There's a few bands I want to see but the total package is a bit expensive given all the other concerts I'm going to.

So, I figure since you added me, I ought to leave you a comment or something. Your display picture is awesome (CTRL+ALT+DEL ftw), and your taste in music is also pretty damn good. What ARCA units are you doing this semester?

Oh and my first name's Amanda, can't remember if it's on my profile. Oh! And... "hello" and all that usual introductory bollocks.

Yes but still >_> Queenie's my favourite, most likely XD Her and Mr Laurie. ;D But then again, I love Hugh Laurie so... I'm kinda biased.

It is horribly gimmicky, but it's a lot of fun, nevertheless. I like being able to turn by moving myself XD

And lazer-zone! I haven't gone there in AAAAAAAAGES.
Is the one in Penrith still there? (I'm assuming that's the one you went to, I don't know any others, heh)

I love Blackadder! Queenie is my love, I love her. XD I think it helped my Tudor love, but I'm not sure where that came from. I'll agree with you on that Australian History thing. I -hate- Aus history, so boring.

It's such a shame that you don't travel for Archaeology. They should take you to Egypt or something like that! Haha.

And yes, Mario Kart related injury. XD Just got the Wii version yesterday, and was playing with my friend who while trying to jump hit herself in the face. XD I'm still laughing, poor thing!

What are you up to this weekend?

I've seen him around on last. fm and we've been to quite a few similar gigs, to my knowledge. XD

And yes, I love history. Knowing me, I'll probably end up focusing on British history, possibly just Tudor history, or something like that. If not that, then Ancient History. How broad of me, haha.

How is studying archaeology? Do you get to take trips to places? XD

I'm going back to uni next year to most like study history. But this and last year I've been studying Psychology, which I didn't really enjoy. I've studied Japanese for five or six years, so I'm actually bothering to get a certificate of it in TAFE.

Hooray parties! I can't believe uni and that goes back next week.

Oh pft, you know what I mean. XD

God my internet is so slow that it's taken a thousand hours to load this post a comment page that I don't even remember what you said to me. Oops.

Ah yes, I remember. I'm doing the same, very little but buying DVDs and music and what not and waiting for TAFE to start up. I'm taking a break from uni to do some TAFE work and I must send off those forms.

How long do you have left on holidays?

oh, and Dragonforce.

...well, I'm not sure whether I like them enough to see them in concert. I've heard some really bad reviews of their gigs where the sheer speed of their music just turns everything into a muddy mess.

...and didnt they come here not that long ago?

I'm holding out for Edguy to grace us with their lovely presence once more. was too young to go to their shows last time they were here (just after the Helfire club album... bastards didnt come here on the rocket ride tour *sad*).
They're doing a new album at the moment, which is supposed to be out November-ish... so perhaps we can hope for a show sometime next year. *loves Tobi*

*continues on fangirly ramble*

ahem. anywho. I just want Nightwish to come back again.
How come America gets two tours? *bitter*

Doccies: I know there's a shoeshop in the city on George st that sells them. They also sell trannie boots. lol. Cant remember the name of the shop though. Will investigate and get it to you as soon as I find out.

Otherwise there's a guy at Parklea markets who sells them.

Best bet's ebay though. Usually second hand ones (but I think that's better anyway, cos it saves you having to break em in which requires wearing REALLY stiff and uncomfortable leather for two weeks). The prettier colours are harder to find in Australia (and tend to be dearer) but try the UK ebay. Or the American one. The ass has falled out of the American Dollar so stuff's not that expensive (even to get shipped, if you dont mind waiting a few weeks).

They also are in UK sizes. I'm a UK 6 (Aussie women's 8, European 39/40). not too hard to work out your size. :)

Or you do like Emppu and get New Rock ones with flames on the sides and four inch soles. lol.

...wrong Tuomas. lol. Granted, a Tuomas who also plays the keyboards (I think), but not nearly as fantabulous as our wonderful Mr Holopainen (please excuse possible shocking spelling.).

*squees at the brother firetribe and the shininess of Emppu.*
C'mon, that little dude is freakishly adorable.

...way to rub it in. :P I'd been to Utopia a couple of times when it was still on george st, and have driven past it once since. I live in castle hill though, where public transport is quite shite and it is a pain in the ass to go anywhere near town. lol.

so jb usually does me just fine. :) Went and bought the new Avantasia cd too... though havent actually listened to it yet. Too busy going *squee* over the Brother Firetribe album I got my filthy little mits on. *glee*

*loves Pekka, with his unfortunate name and fabulous voice*

ah yes, but now that Utopia is no longer on George st, it's a pain in the butt to get to (mainly because I hate driving in the city with a passion).
But this saturday you say? hmm... *contemplates*

good luck with your first and final exam.

*is shocked* JB has failed? Oh noes! On a random note, methinks I shall be venturing off to buy this shiny Avantasia sometime.

and my oh so delightful car adventure... what do you mean by "where did it lead you?" ...Sydney, home of course! (thank god... wagga and its lack of a JB and too many bogans was starting to get tiresome). and ew Tamworth. why on earth would you want to drive there? :P

...and are you ever actually offline?

Hit up Jb Hi Fi for Fintardy goodness. Pretty sure they've got Rasmus stuff.

Regarding Shaman: ah, I see. damn bands having the same names!! Just to make my life difficult, I swear.

Righto. am off to, ahem, acquire, some of this magical metal opera goodliness. On the topic of Avantasia, you heard the newest one yet? Only heard a couple of the songs myself and they're not as good as the first two...

In other, incredibly random news, I drove home from wagga today. 6 hours in a car and I am officially insane (though I did listen to lots of lovely Edguy.. <3)

toodles, fellow Fintard
