Profile
S.E.S. stands for the beginning letter of each girl’s name. SM Entertainment was holding auditions to create a hot girl band. Sea, Eugene, and Shoo were choosen to become this new Korean band. The three girls released their first album in 1997. Their main song on Cause I’m Your Girl was an instant hit and put S.E.S. on the market. The band’s popularity skyrocketed and led to the creation of other bands like Baby V.O.X. and FinKL. In 1998, S.E.S. debuted with the single Meguriau Sekai in Japan. Shoo had been born in Japan, so she took over as the lead singer for S.E.S’s Japanese releases. As if Korea and Japan weren’t enough, S.E.S. began to spread their name in Taiwan and held a concert there. Unfortunately towards the end of the year, S.E.S’s contract ended and the group decided to disband despite their great popularity.
