On behalf of the 5th Annual Southeast Student Renewable Energy Conference (SSREC) planning committee, the Southern Energy Network, Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative and Valdosta State University, we invite you to participate in this historic continuation of the development of the Youth Climate Movement in the Southeast. Creating a just and sustainable energy future is our generation’s greatest challenge. This February 8th-10th, 2008 at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia we will continue to train to next generations leaders to meet this challenge.

We are so excited to announce our new partnership with the Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative!
In planning for its monumental 5th year the SSREC has broadened its scope to build an inclusive movement in the southeast encouraging diversity in all forms.
The conference will included 3 days of ;
--Inspiring Speakers
--Panels
--Workshops
that will address the issues of energy, climate change, and environmental justice.
This years workshop tracks reach beyond campuses including;
-- Environmental Justice and Anti-oppression
--Community
-- High School
-- Campus 101 and 202
-- Faculty and Staff
The hands on workshops that will empower you to return to your communities and campuses ready to implement the changes necessary to build a just and sustainable energy future.
These changes represent the values within the youth climate movement and the realization of the need for our movement to go beyond that of past environmental movements, to build a truly inclusive energy future that will provide for all people.
