About The Renegade Kid- Booking Western Tour for January
Seth Anderson, aka The Renegade Kid, is a solo acoustic/electric act who found his musical roots in the backyard/basement punk rock scene of his native small town, Hartland, New Brunswick. After persuing a career in professional hockey into university, his focus quickly changed to writting and performing music, taking him onto a new found path with new found passion. He now calls the mountain town of Canmore, Alberta his home. Drawing much of his inspiration from his love of the outdoors along side bands such as Face to Face and Social Distortion, as well as mainstream rockers Joel Plaskett and Ryan Adams, his sound has evolved into an energetic mixture of punk infused storytelling folk music. With lyrics such as, “Take me to the river I’ve been waitin’ for a while/ But I ain’t goin’ out without one last taste of summer time./ I’ll be flying with the angels but I know that now is right/ Cause my sweet love she awaits me and it’s time to say goodnight.”(Stories I Can’t Keep, 2008) , he is known to hit the heart of his listners with his gut wrenching, soulful lyrics.
Applying his working class ethics to his music, he has been furiously touring in an attempt to build a career from the ground up. Winning over a loyal following across Canada, with his invigorating live performances, one show at a time. Having the opportunity to share the stage with amazing talents such as, Steve Loree (Jr Gone Wild), yodelling folkster, Petunia and the Loons, Calgary punk rock heavyweights Madcowboys, Canadian Folk singer John Brooks, Marco Rocca of Moncton,NB’s HOPE, and up and coming East Coast mainstays, The Wild, and Mike Bochoff, over the last three years he has played upwards of two hundred shows and recorded two self released albums. Late Night Renegade (2006), and Refuge at Trail’s End (2008), both earning much positive feedback from fans nationwide. Refuge at Trail’s End (2008) was recorded with well known Alberta independent producer and sound engineer Steve Loree, who has lent his hand to to such names as Corb Lund, Wednesday Night Heroes, Washboard Hank, Steve Coffey, and Petunia too name a few in a long list.
With his head down and teeth grit, The Renegade Kid has a third album ready for recording in early 2010, and never ending nationwide and regional tour plans, currently booking for his fall “Mountains to Meadows” Cross Canada Tour. In 2010 he will also be making his footprint on European soil.
