Seth WoodBury MacFarlane was born in the small New England town of Kent Connecticut to Ron and Perry MacFarlane. Seth has a younger Sister named Rachael. He attended Kent School then went on to study animation at the Rhode Island School of Design. After he graduated he went to work for Hanna-Barbera Productions (Now called Cartoon Network Studios) writing for the shows Johnny Bravo and Cow and Chicken. He did some work for Walt Disney Animation as a writer on the TV series Jungle Cubs. In 1995 He created Life of Larry. This was originally supposed to be used as an in-between on Mad-TV sadly it fell through. Then Fox saw it and asked Seth to make a show then Family Guy was born. Executives at FOX gave Seth $50,000 to create a pilot.
On September 11, 2001 he was scheduled to return to Los Angeles on American Airlines Flight 11 after being a keynote speaker at his alma-mater in Rhode Island. Due to a mix-up by his travel agent he was told that his flight was scheduled to depart at 8:15am but it really departed at 7:45am and he had arrived at Boston Logan Airport a few minutes after boarding was stopped on his flight and he was told he would have to wait for the next flight. At 8:45am one hour after the departure of American Airlines Flight 11 he went to the Bar to get a drink and fell asleep. When he woke there were a lot of people in the bar talking. He looked on the TV and saw what had happened. He called his Parents 45 minutes later to let them know he was fine. He said, "It was life changing but I wouldn't be come a monk."
In 2002 Family Guy was canceled for the 3 time, Seth thought the show was gone for good. Fox then gave him the okay to do a new Show called American Dad. This show was made in 2003 and aired in April of 2005. Thanks to the DVD sells of Family Guy Fox thought it would be a good Idea to add the show back to there Fall line up.
Seth is working on a new show that Fox signed for 6 episodes calledThe Winner. This will air in the fall of 2006.
