Seven Falls hit the Orange County scene in the fall of 2005 and haven’t looked back. “Actually, we haven’t had time to look back” says guitarist/vocalist Alex Ribble of the aggressive pop-punk quartet. “From day one our goal has been to do the absolute most with the twenty-four hours we’re given each day... We just can’t sit around and wait for things to happen... it’s just not in our nature.” Armed with an arsenal of explosive rock tunes, the band has officially set out to reach the masses. “Our music pretty well speaks for itself..” says guitarist Mikey “Punk Rawk” Powell. “Our influences range from 1990’s pop-punk on up to current indie rock, but our message always stays straightforward. Our song style may vary, but ultimately what you hear is what you’ll get at our show.”
With the newly released EP “Take It Apart” now in tow, Seven Falls has continued to harness its sound while focusing heavily on new material. “Take It Apart was conceived to be a good representation of our core sound…” notes bassist and backup vocalist Todd Killingsworth. “This EP was a chance for us to finalize those core songs and give them to the world, once and for all.” Equipped with an all-star production crew, the band headed into the studio in November 2006. “Ken Cain came on as a producer, and we knew we were going to have to make some decisions about our guitar tones. Ken’s a guitar buff and a massive equipment encyclopedia… we’d knew they’d come out good.” Ken enlisted the help of Adema-alum Mike Ransom for the mix, and turned over mastering duties to Los Angeles veteran-expert Tom Baker. During the course of the recording, the group also shot a music video for “Breathe” directed by Han Le. “We’d worked with Han several times in the past…” recalls drummer Adrian Seibert. “He had a really good vision for the song and his style is unique and impressive to anyone who sees it… we knew he’d do a great job.”
Now, in 2007, ask any of the Seven Falls members and they’ll give you the same answer. “We’re ready.”
“2006 was definitely a building year for us, but 2007 is all about fun” says Alex. “As a band, we know our way around the studio and feel very comfortable with our sound. We’re definitely ready to take things to the next level.”
