In the summer of 2004, former members of Baltimore based rock band, VERDICT, Justin Resnick and Chris Vazquez got together at Chris’s apartment in Baltimore, Maryland to write and record music for recreation. Before long, they became entirely devoted to the creation. By the end of the summer, Chris and Justin had accumulated enough material for an entire album. They had combined commercial hard rock with spellbinding melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. They decided to release the material independently under the name “Piece.” The album was titled, “Wearing the Burn.” However, once summer was over Chris had to return to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. While at Berklee, Chris became connected with a New York production company called “Superego Productions,” and producer Chris Young. Young was a successful pop and dance producer who had dabbled in the world of hard rock. Intrigued by “Wearing the Burn,” he invited Chris and Justin to record at Superego Productions’ studio in late December of 2004 through early January of 2005. They updated “Brother” and “Nothing Matters”, both from “Wearing the Burn”. In addition, “The Money” was written especially for the sessions. The experience of making commercial and current hard rock music was tough and educational. Chris and Justin emerged with a new outlook on songwriting and with music that was in line for a record deal. However, they had no band. Chris Young urged them to assemble a band ASAP. Within a month, Justin had moved to Boston and Chris had found the right members for the band. Chris asked life long friend Paul Weidel to play samples, keyboards, and to help with writing. He then asked other friends from Berklee, Mike Torres and Bryan Morton, to fill in the rhythm section. After a few weeks, the band took the name “Seven.” Now, with gigs and label showcases being planned in New York, Boston, Rhode Island, and Baltimore; Seven is ready to realize it’s full potential.
