Internationally, the pub is of huge significance because of its involvement with the abolition movement. Now equally well known as the home of acoustic music in Bristol's historic heart every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 3.00pm.
Stephen and Katie who run The Seven Stars are committed to supporting live music and giving a platform to local musicians and it’s thanks to their generosity that the weekend Acoustic Afternoon sessions remain a free entry event. Small and friendly, drop in for a drink to see friends or stay for the afternoon to catch some of the finest musicians around. The word has spread and The Seven Stars now attracts musicians from all over so you never know who you might see next. Hope to see you soon.

The Seven Stars Public House is an historic pub in Thomas Lane, Redcliffe, Bristol, BS1 6JG.
One of the earliest references to the pub is in the Bristol Record Office. It mentions Sir John Hawkins, who, whilst buying what was to become the Georges Brewery, acquired the lease in 1694 from the Saunders family brewing dynasty “…a half tenement, the sign of the Seven Stars, St Thomas Lane”.
It is now noted for its association with Thomas Clarkson the abolitionist who visited in 1787 and used the pub as a base for his researches into Bristol's "Honourable Trade" of slavery.
It was built in the 17th century and is a grade II listed building.
From time to time an artist booked to play at The Seven Stars my not show up for the gig, often giving minimal notice or no notice at all. Although every attempt will be made to find another artist to take their place, there may be insufficient time to arrange an alternative performer so the start time may vary accordingly.

Hey the Seven Stars! Thanks very much for your generous donation to me for my efforts in the Bristol Half Marathon. I've raised just over a £100 for the MS Society. Many thanks Tim
