Severe got his start in drum and bass in 2001. He began, as most do, playing at house parties and small club shows. He has sinced joined forces with Outburst (Robbie Batten) , and Illusive (Jay Landry), to form one of nc's most diverse and well known crews: Illstreet.
Severe was influenced and has learned from some of nc's finest, including Tension, J-Dubb, Gyromite, and Focus. Other influences include national artists such as Usual Suspects, Hive, and c4c. His mixing style is best described by the definition of the alias itself .
Severe- 1. serious or stern as in manner 2. extreme, intense, or violent 3. rigidly exact or demanding
He posesses the ability to seamlessly blend all genres of drum and bass, from light atmospheric, to the darkest of smashers. Either way, the selection is upfront. His mixing abilities have earned him slots alongside some of dnb's top artists,but behind the scenes, he has been involved in many of nc's parties one way or another. Through the illstreet family he has remained an active member in supporting nc drum and bass by doing sound for events from wilmington to charlotte.Illstreet has also made a name for itself in the southeast by hosting their own events, and have brought through the future names in dnb such as Catacombs first NC appearance, as well as legends such as Calyx for his first NC appearance
To top all this off, he is now one of the hosts for ncdnb.com's internet radio show on sunday nights. The show is called "nights of the round tables", every sunday night from 9:pm-until!! Over the past year he has joined Outburst in the studio to produce their own style of drum and bass, with a few of their tunes nearing completion. Be sure to keep an eye out for what this duo has to offer from that end of the spectrum as well!

When I was in NYC for Halloween I met a boy who looked exactly like you.. I mean, EXACTLY.. and, he is a d&b dj.. it was weird... Only difference, he was Russian. He told me he wanted to take me to Miami... not gonna go.. I think it's a little off that he was so into me when I was dressed like a 4 year old, complete with my Popples back pack.. but interesting experience to say the least.........
