While in college, we would go out to local bars and listen to area bands play their hearts out on stage to a few hundred people (if they were lucky), but during breaks or after the show they wouldnt even have a single quality CD to sell. This never sat well with me. Why wasn't there an independent record label helping these guys out? The answer was obvious; either Indy labels had lost touch with the local scene, or nobody had the knowledge or resources to pull off small quantity productions... ..That's when we decided to stop complaining and start doing something. At first, I thought our label would fail before it ever got started. We got in over our heads really fast, have you ever really stopped and thought about how many people you know that have a garage band? Its scary once you really think about it, we had a dozen bands that wanted us to hook them up and no clue how to do it. That's when we decided that indie music needed to be heard by any means possible. Over the years with your help we have grown to the company we are today. So sit back with an open mind and listen to real music made by true artists... .. .... .. .. .. .. .... .. .. ..

History of Severed

Severed Records was founded on the belief that every band has an audience if they are given a chance to find it. While in college, we would go out to local bars and listen to area bands play their hearts out on stage to a few hundred people (if they were lucky), but during breaks or after the show they wouldnt even have a single quality CD to sell. This never sat well with me. Why wasn't there an independent record label helping these guys out?
